I've just installed the real name database for PCM 2013 and have noticed that the equipment selection screen is not as it should be and also doesn't allow me to make any changes. When I use the official database I don't have a problem and it's fine.
Is there a solution to this?

I guess you are talking about the real name DB from pcmdaily. If yes, then read the support thread: https://www.pcmdai...d_id=29983 |

Thanks, but it says that I need to re-install it again. Does this mean I need to delete the DB file and then download the whole thing again? Or is there a quicker fix to the problem?

Also I'm having problems with the new editor. I've downloaded it and extracted it but can get no further than the "database in" screen. It won't allow me to import anything in? |

Regarding your DB problems:
You are supposed to post in that thread if you have a problem with that DB.
Regarding the editor:
It would be easier to help you if you would describe you problems more precisely, for example posting the name of the editor. I guess you are talking about this editor: https://www.pcmdai...hp?did=907
If that is your editor, then you can find the "how to edit" instructions there. |

I've followed those instructions down to "How to edit a database" and on point 1, it mentions putting a database file into the databases folder, I try to do this but there is nothing there, like it can't find the correct folder. |

I can't quite picture your problem.
If the issue is that you can't pick equipment (it's there, but it's not clickable), you're looking the career menu which doesn't really have any use in PCM.daily DBs. All equipment is useable and clickable in the menu right before playing a stage. |

Did you read my comments below? I described where you can find which files.
If you have problems finding the "database folder", I also commented on that in the first paragraph. This would be a subfolder of the editor. |

This is just before the race:
1) When I use the official database, everything is as it should be and I can select what I want etc.
2) When I use the real name DB there are more options and pictures of riders on bikes etc and I can click on everything. But the problem is nothing changes and everything is on 5 stars and also all the configurations on the bottom left of the screen: mountain, time-trial etc are all the same at 52 regardless of whether I change it to C1, C2 or C3.
When I downloaded the file I sent everything to the main game folder, but for some reason it goes to my documents, I read somewhere that everything needs to be in the same folder to work properly. |

What do you mean by "nothing changes"? If you choose a certain frame, it's not used when you actually play the stage?
Everything is supposed to be five stars. That's a 'decision' made by the DB team. |

Yes I can't select any frames for the race. Ok, so you are saying there is no fault with my installation and by default everything should be 5 stars? Therefore the DB team has chosen the best bikes for each stage or race? And basically I can just skip this section and go straight to the race, without making any bike choices?

There is no "best bikes" because all have the same stats.
The idea behind this is to have the teams riding on real bikes (like in real life).
If you care about realism in the 3D gameplay you shouldn't change anything. |

Ok all is clear now and 50% of my problem is solved
All I need now is to sort this bloody editor out! I can get to the "Database in" section and when I click on the PCM2008 file that I extracted, it gives me a screen where I can import databases in or out, but the problem is that there are no databases for me to import (as the option is faded out) |

Per default, the database is set up to choose the equipment that your team uses in real life. So yes, you can skip this section.
However, many people like to play around with the options - e.g. if you have the yellow jersey in the Tour de France, you can choose a maching yellow bike frame |

What are you using the editor for anyway?
In Database In, there's a dropdown where you should be able to pick the database of your choice. If there's not, make sure there's a database in the FullEditor/Database folder. In the editor, select it and write something in "Folder out". That will make it possible to click the "import" button.

@Tafiolmo: I already answered your question about the editor an hour ago.
@Mike: On the download page I posted a comment regarding the instructions. Maybe you want to edit the instructions to make them more comprehensive. |

@CrueTrue and Lachi
Yes it is the editor that you said but I still can't get it to work and I've followed the info given by CrueTrue as well.
When you say 'full editor/database' you are talking about the one in the main cyanide folder for the game? If you are it won't let me extract to that. Or is it another one? I also created a new folder as well to see if that would work and it extracted the files to the new folder, but when I opened the PCM2008 file it was still the same problem.
The database in and out program is straight forward enough and as you say there is a drop down section, but the problem is that there is never anything in it and I can't put anything in the folder.
I only want the editor because it's there and I want to see what I can do with it Also I guess, I want to see if I can affect the in game weather as well.

You have to copy a file from one folder to another folder.
I have explained where you can find these folders.
After you have copied the file, you can select it in ithe dropdown "database in" |

Guess what I finally did it I was making it much harder than it actually is! I copied the database that I wanted into the extracted database folder and it came up in the dropdown. I'm not sure if it was better to copy than to cut (I copied just so I didn't ruin the original database) I'm now exploring the editor.
Anyway thanks to both CrueTrue and Lachi for their patience and time tonight.
