I turned on my computer last night to install the PCM, but it just wouldn’t cooperate. Wouldnt even show something on the screen. Even before I started I was worried, if it could even run the game – so now I’ve decided to buy a new one.
I’ve found two models that look interesting. What’s the difference except for the screensize? And will PCM 2013 run smoothly on those laptops? I don’t know much about graphic cards, processor, etc.
I'm most into a 15,6 ", but if the 17,3" is better I don't know :-)
Looking at the specs, I really wouldn't want to try to run PCM 10 let alone 13 on the smaller machine. The larger one might (might) run PCM at a half-playable level but I wouldn't want to risk it. Scroll down on the spec page for the second one and you'll see their analysis on its benchmarking in various games. It's struggling to run many of those at even low settings and while they might be more graphically intensive (in some ways) than PCM, PCM is horribly optimized and runs less than impressively on some machines way over the recommended spec.
Are you tied down to a laptop? You can get much more power out of a desktop for less money, but if you need/want mobility then that's a problem, obviously. Also, if you can build your own you can save a great deal but it sounds like you may not want to try that?
