My name is Andy Schleck.
Officially I have won the Tour de France 2010.
Since my fall in the Dauphiné last year, I've gone from bad to worse.
I've been spit upon, laughed with, I've been passed by sprinters on small climbs. I've been down the darkest road a cyclist can ride.
But that's about to change. Just at the time when nobody believes in me anymore, when I've been kicked while being down, I intend to stand up.
My name is Andy Schleck
I will win the Tour de France 2013.
This year's Tour is almost perfect for me. I'm not a big fan of time trials and those are limited here. The tough mountain stages definitely make up for those TT kilometers. Alpe d'Huez, Mont Ventoux, Madeleine, they're all here. I brought my wings and I want to fly!
The Queen's Stage is probably the Alpe d'Huez stage, where we will mount the legendary climb twice!
There are two people who will never stop believing in me. My brother Fränk, who unfortunately can't be here because of a suspension, and my team manager. He has absolute fate in me and brought an amazingly strong team to support me.

Stage 1 :: Porto-Vecchio - Bastia
Profile
Not a usual prologue, but a flat stage. I expect a nervous peloton. Cancellara will protect me in this stage, keep me at the front and keep me on my bike.

The Race
And so we were ready for the Tour de France 2013, the 100th edition!
Even breaking away in the Tour brings incredible prestige! The first attackers tried their luck.
Surprisingly they stayed away and got joined by four others. The complete break: Phinney, Sijmens, Rollin, Bardet, Wynants, Arashiro and Izagirre.
It was Europcar's Arashiro who took the first mountain point of this Tour!
And then the peloton started moving. I was happy to have Cancellara in front of me to protect me, the wind was blowing hard!
The peloton was being strung out! Riders lost contact with the peloton!
There couldn't have been more than 50 riders left getting ready for the sprint. I only had Cancellara left and was on the verge of losing contact. He helped me through this tough finish!
And what nobody deemed possible had happened - the breakaway was not caught in time! Taylor Phinney wins the stage and will wear the first yellow jersey!

What a hectic day. The first yellow jersey is handed out, now. Tomorrow will be equally important not to lose time!
See you then,
Andy

Wow, this was about the last I expected from you Ian!
Seems a nice idea, I will follow this ofc
Phinney surprised. If it was a prologue start, I could imagine Phinney picking up the first yellow jersey. But not now

Didn't see that coming
Btw, breakaway wins to much on PCM 2013 (at least in my game)

welker3257 - Thanks, hope so, too
Jesleyh - Don't know, this is PCM 2013, not console game
ThVoets - I've beginning to notice that, too. Remind me to send Voigt in many breakaways
This is just a little thing I want to do. A small story, no pressure. Don't expect this to be my finest work. Just a Tour seeing what Andy Schleck can do and mainly to test the mountain AI in the Tour

@Ian I realised that a minute later, but you were faster than my edit
Hmm, I should get some sleep

Great Idea!
A little of topic:
I think shleck should look at the 2010 win with honor. He would have won it right there and then if it wasn't for Alberto Contador's unfairness.

Great Idea!
A little of topic:
I think shleck should look at the 2010 win with honor. He would have won it right there and then if it wasn't for Alberto Contador's unfairness.
Im sorry for going offtopic, but why is it unfair Contador attacked? He also has to make his living. I agree, it wasnt nice, but it surely wasnt unfair

Good luck, though I wish Andy keeps on failing. In real life, that is. |

I would like to see Andy return to the front in this year's Tour, but that isn't going to happen, so this story will be the best I have. Good luck!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

That's probably the most awesome intro to a story ever. So brutal yet making you cheer him on from beginning to end |

Awesome story dude! definatly going to follow this story, i am a big Andy fan myself!!
and muttisr i agree with you, Contadors attack wasn't okay, he won the tour because of an mechanical failure... imagine to be Bjarne Riis in that situation: the rider he was negotiating a contract with, doing that to his present star ??
But awesome story! Thumbs up!

I like the new story, a break from the fictional rider stories and a nice story about a great rider! |
