So I downloaded the peatch from this site, thinking now I probably didn't even need it because I am on Steam. But I installed it in my program files, which was the default place. When I tried to start the game with steam, it didn't start and came up with the crash report straight away. I then uninstalled the patch, still came up with crash report. Verified cache, 2 wrong files and they were fixed and still the crash. Thanks |

Did it work before the patch?
Did you try uninstalling the game, then re-install? |

Yes it worked fine.
I don't really want to download it again, because my wifi is very slow. Looks like I might have to though. |

Hi,
I have a similar problem. I installed the game-steam version (didn't istall the patch) and I played several single stage; but the game crashed when trying to play a career or a Tour. I restarted the pc, and now I cannot even launch the game.
Already tried to unistall and reinstall and verified cache as well (2 wrong files that were fixed)
Anything else I could try?
Thanks |

Normally you should contact the steam support in such cases.
But maybe it help resetting the game, see instructions below.
Please consider that I copied this from the official PCM 2011 forum, so the paths are from PCM 11 and the "non-steam" version. You might have to search for them.
Reset the settings of Pro Cycling Manager 2011:
(Beware, it will erase your progress if you don't make a copy of the folder named Users)
A. My documents
1. Click Windows Start button and click My Documents or Documents.
2. Delete Pro Cycling Manager 2011 folder.
3. Run Pro Cycling Manager 2011.
B. Roaming folder
1. Open Computer then Local Disk (C:).
2. Open Users folder.
3. Open your username folder.
4. Open AppData folder (*)
5. Open Roaming folder.
6. Delete Pro Cycling Manager 2011 folder.
7. Run Pro Cycling Manager 2011.
(*) Note that on some Windows systems the application data folder is hidden by default.
Here is how to make it visible:
Open the Folder Options by clicking the Start button and click Control Panel.
On the Control Panel, click Appearance and Personalization and click Folder Options.
On the Folder Options, click on the View tab.
Under the Advanced settings, click Show hidden files and folders and click Ok. |

If you don't want to contact the steam support, then try this:
1. Delete the game folder in steam\common\ (don't know the exact path as I am not sitting in front of my game pc).
2. Delete both other game folders as mentioned by me above.
3. Re-download the game. |

But this time don't run the game after deleting! This will regenerate the folder, which you don't want, since you're reinstalling the entire game.
Spoiler Sometimes files are not deleted when you simply uninstall a game. If the problem is in one of those files, it will still exist after reinstalling the game.
Inactive due to personal reasons.

I cannot follow your description haasje33. I told him to delete the folders, not to uninstall. After deletion of the folders, nothing can remain. |
