OK, I've spent the last 24 hours trying to download pcm 2013, and, after finally reaching 99%...
It suddenly went into 'overflow" (?) and download times have climbed at an alarming rate. 10 minutes ago it told me there was 14 minutes remaining, and now it's telling me that there is 46 minutes remaining... and climbing!
I just don't get it!
How can a download get longer as it progresses?
This makes no sense.
Is 'overflow' part of the patch, or part of the normal download?
Computers do exactly do what they are programmed to do. You cannot blame the hardware, only the people using it.
Now to your problem. When downloading huge files, it is recommended to use a downloading software which allows to halt and restart downloads.
But no matter what tool you use to download, "overflow" does never reference to a patch. Patches have to be downloaded separately. So either read the manual of your downloading tool or ask google.
If you are bored of waiting. You could just cancel the download and start again using a good downloading tool.
BTW: You forgot to tell us where from and how you are downloading the game.

Hmmm... Not sure what i'm meant to be doing here, or where i've gone wrong.
I pre-ordered the game using the banner link that was put up by pcm daily (i wanted to donate to the site)
I got the email advising me of release times and activation key numbers etc.
I installed and used the download manager that was recommended in my confirmation of purchaase email...
...And now i'm sitting here watching a download go off into what appears to be infinity!
So. maybe you can tell me where i went wrong.
(In my experience computers do not do anywhere near what they are programmed to do! But that's just my opinion)
Lachi? It's not so much about being bored with waiting, it's more about being frustrated with the strange backward steps the 'puter is going in, despite my following the prompts being put in front of me
Sounds like a weird issue. The game is 11 GB large, though, so if you have a slow connection it's bound to take some time, especially with the pressure that's on the servers these days.
Did you try pausing the download and starting it again?
I tried pausing and starting again a number of times.
And it did take a long time to download, but as i mentioned earlier, the weird part was watching it reach the 99% mark with a minute or so left on the download... And suddenly, it says 'overflow' and the clock goes in the opposite direction.
I gave up, and quit last night when it reached more than 3 hours and it became obvious it was just to going to keep going like that.
I'll try again this morning, and if it's still no good, i'll do as Lachi suggested and try a different downloader.
It might be that your download speed crashed although if it happened more then once I doubt it would be that. If you can't seem to find a solution then it might be worth letting it download overnight as that way it should definately be ready by morning no matter how long it's projected to take.
