While many of the division's elite sprinters line up in Berlin for a big HC showdown, a few have sneaked off to Estonia instead in the hope of some easier points. Joining them are a number of CT teams, hopeful of a good opportunity to score highly in a C1 race.
With Estonia being a baltic country, this is a very important race for airBaltic-Endura and sure enough, they bring the strongest team:  Cavendish, Vaitkus and Docker.
Challenging them from the PCT teams,  Guarnieri will hope to do well for Vespa, supported by Gatto; Evian have sent  Manarelli and Sonnery chasing after their own results rather than providing Napolitano with support in Berlin;  Hutarovich, Bozic and Borrajo are a strong trio for Pivovarna Lasko; Sweadbank will look to  Kreder, Giaux, and Hushovd; and Tinkoff have a whole host of Russians - the fastest being  Trusov and Krasnov.
But there are plenty of good CT sprinters here to challenge for a strong points haul. None more so than the enigmatic  Maksimov. Having taken some stage wins in New Zealand, he faces a quick flight around the world in time to line up here, and hope to continue his form.
Credexbank will hope the course is flat enough for  Kankovsky and Clarke; Die Berg Komt Er are headlined by  Hochmann and Rizza; Boeing will want an improvement from  Chicchi; while Risa-Ergon have the Boras Runt winner  Jorgensen.
Other team leading sprinters in the field are  Rasmussen,  Gavazzi,  Cucinotta,  Feillu,  Van Poppel,  Dall'Antonia,  Zabel and  Mironov.
Race will of course not be posted until after Southland, to allow time for the flights of Maksimov and co.!

airBaltic should take this.
Had hoped for Rasmussen to be more of a contender. Maybe he reminds himself being a sprinter and takes some points.

No expectations for this race, but would like JTL to keep his good form and aggressive riding going at the least.

Not sure what Maksimov will do here... With Lima he should have a decent lead-out but he is just so unpredictable...
Hope for a top 5, top 10 is a must.

Prediction: Docker will work on the front and ultimately not lead out or even bother to sprint, Vaitkus will attack pointlessly 5km from the line, and Cavendish will sit on someone's wheel to about 5th place.

Well that's at least two teams with a win goal here, that's interesting.
This is a much stronger field than I had hoped for when planning. I naturally assumed that everyone would go to Berlin instead. I thought Feillu would be a big favourite but now I'm just hoping for a top 5.

There is an ever growing number of WTF moments this season, with Feillu adding himself to the list after that ride. Great tempt from Van Leijen, but AirBaltic took the expected victory. A very nice race to read...
Mono-brow away with the break was nice to see. Chicchi getting the right wheel but lacking the speed. Still in that field perfectly happy with a Top 10.

And a shame that Cucinotta wasn`t even able to get a decent result out of this....
Not that I expected much but not even a top30 is disappointing. |

Another strange attack from sprinters in flat classic, like Hoffman in Berlin. And some of them still able to finish high

This actually looks like Cavendish sprinting
But yeah flat classics AI seems scrambled, but then you cannot expect them to sort themselves into a horizontal line of 20 riders with 3km to go and sprint.
Very good race for AirBaltic and pretty decent for assorted C2 teams, naff all for Rothaus but they will probably combine with Berlin to say it was an okay result.
