I've been playing pcm since a very long time. But I noticed something in my last Vuelta. I was wearing the leaders jersey the entire Vuelta, no one could beat me in uphill stages ( I played with Thomas De Gendt in 2015) Climbing 81. The comepition was not hard. Cobo climbing 78, Garcia climbig 78 So it was quite easy for me to win. ( Playing on hard)
Altough, in stage 16 De Gendt made a fall. He had no injury and finished this flat stage. Suddenly, in the races which followed, he could not follow the pace of the team anymore. When I was making the race hard as I always do, the teammates just dropped him, what never happened before the fall... He is not injured, but I feel like this has something to do with it,It seems like the fall makes him worse. or Am I wrong?
I think there's an option that a rider gets injured, but can continue to race.
F.e, riders can get sick. Not sure if it's with an normal injury as well.
The form of the rider can decrease then. As you might know, form is very, very important in the game.
So what was De Gendt's form after his fall?
His form was the same as his teammates, all 94. The days before they could set the pace and he followed easily after the fall, they dropped him
I remember having this red cross in earlier versions. That probably is the reason. But Shouldn't there be any kind of injury? Like you sometimes have and can put a doktor on him while he is still able to race?
It's indeed like an invisible injury. If you want to visualize you could think of him having some bruises and a stitch maybe here and there (Hoogerland comes to mind ). He should be back on his normal level 5-7 days or so. If you're at the end of the Vuelta, you could try holding on to your first place. If you're in the first week still, you can try preventing him from losing as much time possible, so you can reconquer the leader's jersey in the third week. Either way, playing defensively and keeping your leader out of trouble is a decent strategy.
Depending on how strong your second best rider is, you could also consider switching leaders if you think you will lose it all with De Gendt.
Alternatively, I think the invisible injury can also be removed by editing your save.
Well, He is on his level now, but it was the second week, I am currently 3 minutes down, and was 4 adhead. It'll be hard but It's great to know the game is so realistic
Happened to Mollema in the Giro on my game too. He had a 3 minute lead, but lost 6 minutes the day he fell and then 9 minutes the day after. The next day I send him in a break and managed to make up alot of the lost time, but in the end he finished 8th. It only took a day to recover, but damage was already done.
