Turul al Romaniei - Stage 9
Mresuperstar
i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Turul%20al%20Romaniei/Stage%209/Profile_zps4d980c3b.jpg

The final stage, the only thing left to be decided is the points jersey unless something crazy happens. Here are those rankings heading into today -

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Turul%20al%20Romaniei/Stage%209/1_zps0fef5587.jpg

Papok needs a strong sprint to hold off the likes of Lay, Rizza, etc.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Turul%20al%20Romaniei/Stage%209/2_zps71f90ab8.jpg

It's just a three man breakaway, they can only hope the peloton mistimes the chase horrible today. Very unlikely, but it's worth a shot.

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/mag_zpsa8a946c8.png Naibo
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/icv_zps83bfa75e.png Bongiorno
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/fcb_zpse1da305d.png Abreu

Naibo is an interesting member, looks like he trying to makeup for his bad ride yesterday.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Turul%20al%20Romaniei/Stage%209/3_zps64e311ce.jpg

They get a maximum of 6 minutes but the peloton is already starting to lock in as it's down to 5'15" by the sprint point won by Bongiorno.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Turul%20al%20Romaniei/Stage%209/4_zps4a0aa370.jpg

A strange move out of the peloton with 18kms to go, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/cad_zps01f0e9d1.png Vink attacks with the breakaway still holding onto a 1'20" lead over the peloton.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Turul%20al%20Romaniei/Stage%209/5_zps10e24eac.jpg

Vink joins the breakaway, but with i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/dbg_zps356cc31d.png Die Berg pulling hard in the peloton it doesn't look good for them with 10kms to go.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Turul%20al%20Romaniei/Stage%209/6_zpse60d6d58.jpg

And just like that it is all over for them as Die Berg is controlling the race with 4 members up front.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Turul%20al%20Romaniei/Stage%209/7_zps10f596d6.jpg

Shortly after the sprint is opening up.

It's i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/dbg_zps356cc31d.png Hochmann, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/dbg_zps356cc31d.png Rizza, and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/ekc_zps98eb3bbc.png Friedman on the right.

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/bcr_zps86f2c872.png Morales, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/bcr_zps86f2c872.png Guillen, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/cad_zps01f0e9d1.png Renshaw, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/cre_zps8fb855ae.png Papok, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/bvp_zps98bbf78a.png Chicchi, and i1248.photobucket.com/albums/hh498/Hiiam2412/Barclayskenmicro_zps52dc0de5.png Schinker on the left.

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/ken_zps45e45b07.png Lasca, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/icv_zps83bfa75e.png Lay, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/mtn_zps3dcc4d70.png Abdallah, and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/pvb_zpsc75e654c.png Polivoda are still trying to get through traffic to join a train.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Turul%20al%20Romaniei/Stage%209/8_zpsde4c5dc8.jpg

Lasca is the first one of them to join the tail end as Guillen swings across the road to get on Friedman's wheel after Morales can't sprint no more.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Turul%20al%20Romaniei/Stage%209/9_zps42e643f1.jpg

Now Polivoda and Lay have made their way to the back of the train. They got a ways to go to challenge for the win.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Turul%20al%20Romaniei/Stage%209/10_zps35eb189f.jpg

Hochmann pulls off with 1200 meters to go, Rizza is left with a long ways to go.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Turul%20al%20Romaniei/Stage%209/11_zps54c66f5d.jpg

Renshaw is the first to get out of line with Papok following.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Turul%20al%20Romaniei/Stage%209/12_zpsff758f01.jpg

Guillen goes for it with 600 meters left, but Rizza is still going strong.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Turul%20al%20Romaniei/Stage%209/13_zpsa2f9f71c.jpg

Papok needs to at least get around Renshaw to win the points competition being 8 points ahead of Rizza. Just 300 meters to go.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Turul%20al%20Romaniei/Stage%209/14_zps8d7a04ec.jpg

Forget that, Rizza is fading giving Renshaw the lead.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Turul%20al%20Romaniei/Stage%209/15_zps29dc3da9.jpg

And Renshaw is slowly pulling away...

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Turul%20al%20Romaniei/Stage%209/16_zps03333123.jpg

And the Aussie takes the final stage here in Romania over Papok who wins the green jersey by only winning two stages. But when the other sprinters split up the other stages, that's all you need to do.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Turul%20al%20Romaniei/Stage%209/17_zps3bfacc6a.jpg

Rizza holds off Guillen for 3rd, and moves past Lay to finish 2nd in the points competition behind Papok.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Turul%20al%20Romaniei/Stage%209/18_zpsdfff5faa.jpg

Speaking of which, Lay completes the top 5. Behind him are Schinker, Lasca, Polivoda, Tiainen, and Abdallah to take top 10's.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Turul%20al%20Romaniei/Stage%209/19_zps935cdba9.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/ken_zps45e45b07.png Marzano is your 2013 Turul al Romaniei winner after his brilliant climb yesterday.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/Turul%20al%20Romaniei/Stage%209/20_zps79cc348d.jpg

Good thing he stayed near the front as the back of the peloton is struggling to keep up. Some big GC contenders are pressing their luck and hoping the organizers won't give a gap.

There is the gap. Is it recognized?

No, they get lucky and the organizers award them the same time probably because of all their hard work they put in over the course of the 9 days it wouldn't be fair to punish them like that on the final day.

And that does it from Romania, 9 stages of action packed racing with some unexpected twists and turns but in the end the winners of each classification are truly deserving and outright earned their trophies.
