Hi guys! I'm Tanel, and this is my blog about my life and my cycling life. I'll now let you get to know a little more about me and my history. But first,i will write basic info about me.
| Country: | Estonia | | Born: | 11.03.1987 | | Team: | Pro Team Astana | | Nickname: | Kanks | | Height: | 178cm | | Weight: | 65kg |
As a young guy,i tried many sports. Basketball,Wrestling,Karate, but nothing from them was successful.
At the start of 1998 i started cycling.
My first race, was,as i can remember ,in autumn of 1998. I was actually 2nd,behind my best friend, Rein Taaramae.
Rein started training cycling just few weeks before me.
Both of us were coached by Eric Perner. 1999 passed quite successfully, as well as the following years. First International memorable result was the 2003 European Youth Olympic games where i got 3rd position, which was a total surprise to myself. 2004 and 2005, i competed in the junior age group, and participated in many stage and in World Series.
The first "professional" year was my best ,
i was 10th at the Czech Peace tour, which was my best result so far.
At 2006 my U23 career started and it was very successful!
At 2007 i signed up my first contract. It was amateur contract with AG2R. At 2008 they transfered me to AG2R - La Mondiale Pro team. That was amazing feeling. After i had knee problems,i got sacked. I am now in Astana and i am so happy. That was me,i hope we will have great time here.
I will now try to close you my best results so far and something about my private life. I have a brother and a sister. As a child i always wanted to be like my older brother. He was stronger, smarter, faster, just better. In every sport we played he was so dominant. I was, quite often , in stress situation because i knew he was better. I started school 1 year before it is usual,so , tbh , i was bullied by some guys. After all of that,i found my peace. Cycling. In high school,i found new girlfriend and we're still together. In a year or two,we're even planning marriage.
I don't know if i forgot to say,but firstly,my career was based on Mountain biking.
I was pretty good there! After that,my career was slightly being based on road race. Of course you can't "transfer" yourself from MTB to RR so fast, so i had to pass throught Cyclo-Cross. I was even better there! But at the end,as i said,i think i found my peace in this, and i am really loving it.
Besides that,my hobbies are Pro Cycling Manager , Snooker and i just enjoy riding motorbikes.
I hope you'll follow my blog, and enjoy my road throught world of professional cycling.
Sincerely, Tanel.

That was my race schedule for 2013. It looks pretty good,a bit based on Italy and Belgium races but that's it - 77 racing days - 2 Grand Tours. It will be very tough and hard, but that's the way i like it!
As you can see, this training programs has 2 peaks:
First one: Raising of my form, and my first peak is taking place at about 2nd week of Giro. It is the time where i will be most needed for Nibali (or out main rider for Giro) , so that's it. Also,i will race few 1day races after, where i will actually get leader position.
Second one: After fall of my form at about July,my form start to raise again, and it gets to the top at Vuelta. My main goal is TOP20 there, and i won't get "helper" position,so that means i will be "small leader".

Of course, besides of cycling life,i have my other part,my "normal life". My goals there are to get married,to make family and to live without many problems. I will give everything to make that happening, but it is just too early to speak about that. Let's turn to my cycling career.
 | Finish both, Vuelta and Giro. | | | Win at Setimana Coppi Bartali. | | | Help Nibali to win Giro. | |

After quite bad 2012 season,Astana started this season so,so great. Buying Nibali, and some other decent riders, this team became one of the most popular, and definitely one of the best in peloton , right now. I just can't wait to show you squad.
| Leader | Nibali | | Co - Leader | Brajkovic | | Luxury riders | Gasparotto , Guardini , Iglinskiy | | Team - mates | Rest of the team |
Now let's show stats of each rider in the team.

Nice lay-out.
A bit like the Salvatore Puccio story, and that one was certainly nice!
Hope this one can be as great
