A very tough route expects the rider in North France. While we have 3 flat stages where the sprinters will have their chances we have 2 cobbled races, where the GC should be decided. In especially the 4th stage is very difficult. Not only several kilometers of pavement, but also 2 very hard hills in and around Cassel. Here the favourites need all their energy to stay in front.
And coming to the favourites we have to name the winner of the last season first. Pieter Vanspeybrouck won a close race in 2012. He is supported by Niels Albert, who also showed his potential with the 3rd last year. So Team Bpost will be the team to beat.
Biggest opponent is Jerome Baugnies. The Belgium might be the better puncheur, which could become important on the 4th stage. For both teams it`s about winning the race.
Geraint Thomas will represent the Continental division here and could be the outside favourite. Due to his good sprint skills, his might get more bonus seconds than others.
Same counts for Eisel, who did show great form in this years classic season and Haussler. The German sprinter might not be the best cobbler, but when taking several bonus seconds and fight on the 4th stage he might be able to repeat his 2012 4th.
The home crowd will also have some riders to cheer for. Gaudin (8th, 2012) will have good chances to top 10 here once again and therefore has strong support in Sieberg and Zepunkte.
Another French is Lhottelerie, who gets the chance to lead their cobbled team.
With some chances for the sprinters we have a nice field here. In addition to the named Haussler, Eisel or Thomas we also see Drujon, Kankovsky, Docker and Torckler.

Busy time for Boeing. Frankly Thomas doesn't have the quality to challenge for the win here. A Top5 would be great and make this a worthwhile race. Also hope to get into several breaks with the rest of the team.
My bet for the win is Baugnies. He's that bit better at the hills, and his support is very good. Still, Vanspeybrouck will run him close. I also expect Eisel to get the final podium spot as he is having an outstanding classics season for AMEX.

Our 3rd goal, and it's a win one. I would be happy with 2nd place though, anything else would be big disappointment.
Looking forward to Stage 4 a lot.

Stage 4 is going to be brutal plenty of bonuses as well should be a great race to follow. Haussler could be a dangerman.

Top 5 goal here but I really need a podium and great scoring from the rest of my team. I had to send Vansummeren to Avila instead which is unfortunate as this is a great course for him.

Then will be a MAes-Vansummeren battle in Avila, maybe Steegmans involved |

AMEXpc is spread out over both Dunkerque and Avila, Eisel leads the Dunkerque squad and a top 5 woud be great, but I think Eisel wants to win his 3rd race of the year. I am looking forward to this race.

Stage hunting with Docker, nothing more expected than that. Will be fun watching the cobblers do battle again, though

Great opening stage for the team. Jamie showing off the jersey up front, while we got 5 into the top 20, including a Top10 for G. Now lets hope we can keep it up.
Disaster for Haussler! Real shame for both him and the team... And congrats to the winner as always. Looks nice and open at this early stage

Perfect stage for us. No great cobblers get any bonus seconds. Plus team showing strong performance.

Mission accomplished. Genuine fist-pump moment as I saw the last picture
I suppose the points jersey is a possibility now, too.

Sorry felix. I was surprised as well as I first haven`t noticed.
I thought he was the Sram rider following Eisel, then I checked and it was Eichler...
I also watched the replay a few times. There was definitely no crash, but he immediately stopped after going around the corner and it said "injured" on his profile afterwards. So it must one of those, "I don`t crash but get injured things"... |

That's what annoys me, no crash but an injured rider. PCM-logic...

Its one of the most frustrating bugs in the game

As Ive said before, that was a crash. PCM simply doesnt have an animation for when a crash forces a rider to abandon.

Well done by Sieberg Didn't think he would do that well in a sprint, then again, he got great backup-stats
