Hi everyone!
Welcome to the presentation of our new team. We are proud that we’ve found two great sponsors to help us, at least the next three years, and maybe for a longer time. Our main sponsor is Hot Wheels. Hot Wheels is an American business which produces toy cars. Our secondary sponsor is Porsche. Porsche is a German business and they produces cars. These sponsors are new in cycling. They start with a small sponsor amount, but that will raise when we ride good results. We have fourteen riders of different countries, but the most are coming from the United States. Our goal is to grow and we want to be a team like Team HTC-Highroad. They were one of the best teams of the last few years. We want to train young cyclers of different countries to be such that good as they were. It’s also important for us to have riders of non-cycling countries. We may already say that we have a rider who’s coming from Hong Kong. That’s an example of a non-cycling country. We want to have more riders of such that countries in the future. Our team kit is special made for our team. This season we’re going to ride with this shirt:
Our equipment is going to look like this:
Road
Time Trial
All these things are created by Bikex. The team is very grateful for it.
These are the cyclists who are going to ride with our colours this season.
They will introduce themselves soon.
So what’s coming up next?
- Introducing our cyclists
- Our calendar for January
- Sponsor goals
Some other things:
Spoiler I started this story to improve my English. My English isn’t very good so I try to improve it.
My computer has not a very good graphic card, so I have to play with the lowest graphics. The screenshots won’t be very beautiful but I try my best.
This is my first story so feedback is welcome!

Now we will introduce our riders. They’re going to tell short something about themselves.
Will Burton
Hi, my name is Will Burton and I’m twenty years old. I’m from the United States. My specialties are climbing, hills and prologues. I want to train these skills and I want to become a decent cycler. I’m happy that this team gives me the opportunity.
My main goal this year: Improving my skills.
Edward Byrne
Hello, I’m Edward Byrne. I’m twenty years old and I’m from Great-Britain. My specialty is time-trials. I think the team can help me to improve these skills.
My main goal this year: Ride some good results in time-trials.
Jonathan Chapman
Hi everyone, I’m Jonathan Chapman. I’m eighteen years old and I’m from the United States. I’m a descent rider. I don’t have one thing that I’m good at. But I want to train my cobbles, because my favourite race is Paris-Roubaix. I love French races in any case.
My main goal this year: Improve my cobbles skills.
Yann Coutant
Bonjour, my name is Yann Coutant. I’m twenty years old and I’m from France. I’m from Aquitaine, which is a region at the south-west of French. I don’t have one specific skill. I want to train all my skills and become a decent rider.
My main goal this year: Train all my skills.
Luis Freire
Hi, my name is Luis Freire. I’m 19 years old and I’m from Asturias. Asturias is a region which is in the north of Spain, at the coast. My dream is to become such a good sprinter and hill rider as Oscár Freire. Oh, and I’m no family of him.
My main goal this year: Improve my hills and sprint skills.
Julian Heckel
Hi, my name is Julian Heckel and I’m from Overijssel which is at the east side of the Netherlands. I’m nineteen years old. I want to become a sprinter and I’m happy that this team gave me the opportunity to improve myself.
My main goal this year: Improve my sprint skills.
Frank Hill
Hi everyone. My name is Frank Hill. I’m nineteen years and I’m from the United States. I want to become the best downhiller of the world. I love going down, but I hope my career will going up.
My main goal this year: Improve my hills and downhill skills.
Sylvain Pellerin
Salut! My name is Sylvain Pellerin and I’m nineteen years old. I’m from Haute Normandie (Upper Normandy) which lays in the north-west of France. I’m a decent hills rider and I want to improve that skill.
My main goal this year: Improve my hills skill.
Alexandre Rodrigues
Hi! I’m Alexandre Rodrigues and I’m eighteen years old. I was born in the north of Portugal. I’m a hill rider and I want to become very good in that.
My main goal this year: Make a lot of progression with my hills skill.
Vincent Rogers
Hi, I’m Vincent Rogers. I’m twenty years old and I’m from the United States. I want to become a decent grand tour rider. I want to ride top 10 in one of the grand tours in the future.
My main goal this year: Improve my skills to become a better grand tour rider.
Igor Sobczyk
Hi, I’m Igor Sobczyk. I’m from Poland and I’m twenty years old. I’m a decent downhiller, but I love prologues. I hope to become really well in it. The reason I love prologues is that you can use all your energy in a short distance. Normal time-trials are too long.
My main goal this year: Improve my prologue skills.
Cheng Siu To
Hi, my name is Cheng Siu To. I’m eighteen years and I’m from Hong Kong. I’m proud to be a rider of this team. I want to improve my hills and time-trials skills and I hope to be a decent rider anytime. And, of course, I want to give Hong Kong a name in the world of cycling.
My main goal this year: Improve my hills and time-trials skills.
Ian Watson
Hello, I’m Ian Watson and I’m from the United States. I’m eighteen years old. I want to be a good sprinter in the future and I’m going to train very hard to achieve that.
My main goal this year: Improve my sprint skills.
Antonio Webb
Hello, I’m Antonio Webb and I’m nineteen years old. I’m from the United States. I’m happy to get a chance at this team. I want to become a decent rider and have a lot of fun in this team.
My main goal this year: Improve my skills.

These are the sponsor goals for this season. We’ll try to achieve them, although some of them are almost not realizable.

Wow, that squad, it is... Awful.
Good luck with the story, it's interesting!
Don't really understand why you have that many nationalities, btw?

sutt86: Thanks! Yeah, it's great stuff.
Jesleyh: You see an awful squad, I see a bunch of young talents. Thanks! Well, we want to be the new HTC-Highroad, and they had many riders of different countries too. And I like to have riders of different countries in my team. It has to be an international team and not a team of one country.
admirschleck: They are weak, but not too weak. It'll be difficult to fight for wins, but at least we can go for for example a mountain jersey. I see it as a challenge to ride with a bad team like this.

You could've signed for example 3 young existing talents with f.e. 68 in their best skill.
I know, I took on a challenge like this as well once(not a story though), and it looks good at the start, but you lose motivation.
Also, those flat stats are gonna freak you out at a certain moment.
Hope it doesn't happen with you, since the idea seems good

Jesleyh: Well, I was thinking of a team with real riders, but I just wanted to have one with young talents. And I'd like to have a weak team, because I thought that my motivation would be there for a longer time than when I would ride with better riders. And for now I haven't lost my motivation yet. I already started to write reports to see if I could keep my motivation, and now I'm already at the middle of march.

The first races in January are rode. Let's get a look at the results! Haussler and Durbridge are the champions of Australia, while Bauer and Sergent were the best riders in New-Zealand. They were in both races first and second, but in other rank. And Castroviejo is the (unexpected) winner of the Santos Tour Down Under.

Jesleyh: I'm using the 2013 database of Atlantius, special converted to PCM 11 but with the stages of 2012, from de PCM Daily database. So actually it's a 2013 db with 2012 stages.

Good luck, you're going to have a challenging season but it will be interesting to see how the riders develop!

Jakstar22: Thanks!
fcancellara: Thanks! It's going to be difficult, but that's what I wanted. I'm also very curious to see how the riders will develop, and that's also a part which I like of this team.

Good luck.
I reckon the best tactic for this story is in the first few years to barely do any races each season, so after a few seasons when stats are developed the team can be competitive .
Or:
The team could immediately sign one or two experienced riders which the team can build around so there is a chance of some great results.
Hope this won't interfere with quality jersey design |

The Rider: Thanks! Well, these two options were also my ideas, but I'll see where I'll get. No, I don't think the jerseys will be badder because of this story, so don't worry.
