In my current save-game I'm in the year 2015 and suddenly the AI starts acting really weird. So far I've never had any problems with the AI, mountain stages and sprints were all pretty good.
But suddenly the AI is really messed up, some cases:
If I get a rider in the breakaway (the rider is not stronger than the other breakaway members), they refuse to ride. They won't even relay at 10%. If I just maintain position, they escape out of the group until I'm left alone. When I rejoin them, they stop working again. So I can only work alone or drop out, because they keep attacking, 1 by 1. This also applies in a cobbled race when I'm nearing the finish with a group of about 6. I work, nobody else does. When I don't, someone attacks and wins the stage.
The known sprinting bug is also striking 24/7. Every flat stage finishes 5 km before the finish. If I don't set up a lead-out, it's a disaster.
If I'm in the attack, going for a solo, something screws up also. Just when they're about to catch me, I get a little ground again, they come closer, I get further, they come closer, I get further. It's a yo-yo. When I stop Free Effort and maintain position, the whole pack stops riding and someone will attack and go on to win the stage until I do something about it.
It's just when I attack they chase me and get stuck in the yo-yo process.
So you see, it's extremely annoying and it's impossible to play decently like this. Does anyone know what's going on and if it's fixable?
Thanks!

@RafaMarcos:
Very helpful post.
@Ian Butler:
Are you sure that it only affects that save game? What about single race? Other career? Backups from the weeklysave?
Did you check if something happened with the options. For example passive AI option or whatever it is called.

I'll test a single race or another career later today, see if it's the options of the save-game.
The options haven't changed since season 2014, where the AI was just fine (well, I changed graphics once but it can't be that), the passive AI for multiplayer is still ticked off. |

Okay, I've done the Scheldeprijs (single race mode) with Team Sky.
Got myself in the breakaway, not the highest SP stat from the break, but the highest FLAT stat. Everything went smoothly. 70 km from the finish breakaway riders (there were 5 including me) started attacking. I reacted a few times. Then I tried sitting up, one attacked and went away, the rest slowed down to 30 km/h and we got caught instantly by the peloton.
Nearing the finish, Lotto and OPQS (for Greipel & Boonen) set up their proper sprint trains and never slowed down, so everything okay there!
Don't really know what this means though, is it my save-game, then? |

I never heard about something like that.
If you can remember when it started, then copy a weeklysave from before and put it into the save game folder. Load it an try again. If it still happens, try an older file. |

I'm having same problem almost everytime. E1 works fine until (example) 30kms to go and then they stop. I always try to work and they follow me but when i stop,they stops also. Somehow strange. This is happening in Career and Single Race/Stage mode (i tried all).

This thread is about an immediate change of AI behavior.
If you have this behavior constantly, then I recommend that you turn off the passive AI in the option and if that does not help, please start your own thread. |

I'm experiencing the same thing as Ian, but it's not constant. It is very annoying and the passive AI mode isn't turned on.

So that at least gives me hope it'll go away at one point (only to return again, though),
but it's strange nonetheless, something in the programming must trigger it, it can't be random, or can it? |

In the end, it's all computer codes, it can't be random. But it certainly seems so, of course.
Well, looks like I just have to hope it gets better. Thanks for all the help (especially Lachi)! |

Ian, maybe you should drop Cyanide a line to see if they know something about it |

Well, I think they're having a busy enough time with finishing off PCM 13 and they probably get enough mails with bugs |

Not to mention that they usually don't even bother responding.
