Markus Fothen set down an early benchmark time.
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/ger1.png

And noone seemed able to beat him. Schumacher was 52 seconds down, current TT Champ Kloden lost 1'32 while Voigt lost nearly 2 minutes.

But then Lang set out, he was 11 seconds faster at the first check, and that gap remained the same after check 2. Could he win it?

No! Lang faded horribly in the final section: victory for Fothen!

RR

Lang leads the early break of 6 with Pollack, Ziegler, Frohn, Fiedler and Leben:

After a couple more laps, Knees attacks from the peleton, taking Voigt, Jaksche, Muller and Kopp with him.
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/ger4.png

They catch the early break and soon drop them all.
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/ger5.png

Jaksche and Voigt are able to attack away from the other 3.
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/ger6.png

And Voigt drops Jaksche on the penultimate lap.
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/ger7.png

Also on the penultimate lap, Kessler attacks. Is it too late though?
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/ger8.png

Into the final lap and Sinkewitz, Wegmann and Schumacher attack. Its far too late though.
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/ger9.png

Jens Voigt become the German national champion for the first time ever!
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/ger10.png

Jorg Jaksche is 2nd.
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/ger11.png

Muller 3rd, Knees 4th while Kessler is 5th, not quite able to grab a 3rd place.
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/ger12.png

Kopp is 6th, while Wegmann and Schumacher catch and pass Sinkewitz in the sprint for 7th.
i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff272/SportingNonsense2/ger13.png

Burghardt rounds out the top 10.
