Champion System Pro Cycling Team - 2013
Pinktay3
My new story (blame Jakstar) with one of my all-time favourite teams. Not bad, but not good. Wins will be hard fought and welcome. Wildcards would be helpful, but not a requirement.

First of all though, the team has 17 rider. I would personally like 18. So the question. Do I add in a young, developing rider, old and experienced rider, or team leader?

The team is small and in-experience. This however, does nothing to lessen the teams morale and enthusiasm. In the races, we have Traksel, Gazvoda and Ojavee as our experienced men calling the shots up front. When the race takes on a certain profile, we have various riders for different situations.

When the road goes uphill, Chadwick becomes our protected rider with Lewis and Anderson ready to pick up any crumbs. Over the rough stuff, we put all our eggs in one basket. Mr Traksel's basket. the team is best equipped for sprint finishes, and have options in Brammeier, Jang and Traksel, as well as their main lead-outs, Friedemann, Ojavee and Roth. Roth also completes our 2 man TT team along with Chadwick.

Finally, no rider can be the best by himself, and supoprt is vital to success. Our leaders will be supported to the end by Avery, Beyer, Butler, Gazvoda, Jiao, Liu, Othman, Wu and Xu.

Calender

While the team's calender is far from finalised, it is certain that the team will partake in races on and around the Asian continent, as well as races from the America's, some smaller races in Europe, and will take aim at wildcards to some of the bigger European races.

Atlantius
Interesting (in the good way)

As for the extra rider I suggest sort of the strong domestique that doesn't get to ride his own chances on a higher level. Especially one you think deserve a better chance.
For me it would be someone like Lars Bak. Not good enough to dominate much but a solid rider and a good addition for a CT-team. I guess most cycling fans have someone like that...

add a young rider Wink

Love this team so best of luck with it, I'd either add a young rider or like Atlantius says someone who wouldn't get much of a chance at a higher level but is good for a CT level

A young rider seems nice indeed.

I agree with Atlantius. Lars Bak is the way to go

Pinktay3
Thank you very much for all the positive replies, it really does make things easier for motivation.

As for the rider, I agree a young rider would be good, but with the team lacking a climb leader, I really like Atlantius' suggestion. The next thing to do is to select the rider. I'll have to get back (Haha, get it Grin) on that one.

Ok, i have gone through the DB, and made a few selectionson possible riders for the team. I think they are all justifiable selections, but will leave the final choice up to you guys.

Christophe Le Mevel (France) - A decent climber and Puncheur, riding on the Cofidis squad in 2013. Had a few quiet seasons recently and maybe needs a little something to kick start the second part of his career.

David de la Fuente (Spain) - Another solid climber who changed teams this year. Mot the greatest climber, but consistent and attacking. He has led the TdF KoM before. Maybe he needs a team swap to grab hold of it for those few extra days.

Matthew Lloyd (Australia) - A more punchy climber, probably most famous for barreling off on a corner of the descent of Old Willunga Hill. He returned and won the Mountains classification of the Giro in 2010. A performer like that would be very highly valued on this team.

Tom Danielson (USA) - The best climber on this list, it would be a stretch to nab him, as he's one of Garmin - Sharp's most valued riders. After his drug revelation however, maybe a change of teams would do him good. Of course, he'd only be eligible for selection after he has completed his suspension.

David Moncoutie (France) - A very accomplished, very experience rider. Monicoutie retired at the end of 2012 after finishing his career with 6 GT Stage wins, 4 Vuelta Mountain Classification wins (all in a row; 2008-11)and a Top 10 finish of the same race. Despite only racing for Cofidis during his career, we are quite certain that the lure of racing again will entice him to race with us.

Glen Chadwick (New Zealand) - The experience Puncheur can do most things, and has the experience to benefit from most situations. Along with Danielson, he fits best with the teams current national ties, although is not the best climber on the list.

I will leave this decision (mostly) up to you guys, but keep in mind that I already have a fair idea of who I want/need. I will still take all suggestions though.

Matthew Lloyd or Christophe Le Mevel. Give them a 2nd chance

Take Chadwick!

miggi133
Go for chadwick... He fits in with the overall characteristics of Champion Systems!

sutty68
Its David Moncoutie for me Wink

Pinktay3
Chadwick was my original pick, and he seems to fit the best, bringing good abilities, but still not being a 'world-beater'.

I have now also updated the 2nd, 3rd and 4th post. I'm still working on the content of the 1st and 5th posts. Any ideas? I was thinking an intro to the team and a mission statement or such in the 1st, but not too sure about the 5th.
