Hey!
At a LAN we wanted to kill time, and decided to do a custom team and speed through a season as career. Me and a buddy of my picked a couple of mediocre ones and joined them up with some young scouted riders etc. - which took about an hour including season planning and so on.
First race was the Australian Championships and our team consisted of Durbridge and Hepburn among others. As I always do, I brought them to the front (relay at 59) with the intention of maintaining position and not doing any work, but before I clicked the "maintain" option, the riders coincidental created a gab to the peleton. Now, if I was playing more seriously, I would've brought them back and all, but instead we decided to "x8" it, and see what would happen.
With relaying at 59, only disrupted by getting waterbottles, Hepburn won in front of Durbridge, and the peleton came in 35 mins behind (they all withdrew). After that we returned to play Diablo III. Pff.
How often does stuff like that happen to you guys? Just being curious
Take care! |

that only ever happens in races where there aren't many riders competing, I've only ever seen it happen in national championships although I've never had it happen in teh australian championships as Green Edge normally have a strong enough team that they start to pull the break back just like any other normal stage.

I agree. This exact scenario have happend a couple of times for me - in this race. Played on hard by the way. None the less, it's ridicules.. few competing riders or not I was wondering if it had something to do with creating the gab by relay and not an attack. Maybe the AI didn't realize that there was a breakaway?

Exactly. It happens at every smaller National Championship.
Normally Orica - Greenedge is strong enough to pull back, but you've probably took enough riders from them to make them weak

I only had those two australians Even with Orica not participating it's dumb
Anyway. I experience alot of these "glitches" and horrible AI stuff. I can't be the only one. I told a story to get this thread going. What have you experienced?

It's deinately down to the small number of riders, I doubt it's down to creating teh gap without attacking because I've had riders ride away on dot effort and still get treated like a normal breakaway does. I don't think I've ever broken away through relaying before, maybe once but I sat up staright after as I was trying to make a quick catch before a mountain sprint.

You said ''Durbridge & Hepburn among others''
Or is my English failing here?
Anyway, yes, it's dumb, but nothing to do about it...
