Tom Boonen: A big question mark due to a bad winter. Five time winner here.
Jurgen Roelandts: In good shape, will be keen on winning today.
Edvald Boasson Hagen: Strong and fast.
Filippo Pozzato: Always a danger.
Philippe Gilbert: Showed himself in Paris - Nice. Peaking later but always a dangerous man.

E3 is always a strange race, you can finish solo, but it can also be a sprint like last year. Took the afternoon off so I can watch it
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Boonen to respond to all the expectation with an attack that quickly burns out as the legs aren't there. Think he already had 8 wins by this time last year but looks like it might be Gilbert-esque in going from domination last year to struggling this (though becoming world champ was a half decent effort for PG ).
I hope he proves me wrong (like so many before and likely after him) and we see a 3 up with Sagan and Canc but it would be a big surprise to me. Knock on effect is more considered less long shot chance for Chavanel? |

I'm thinking Chava for the win. Though Luca Paolini is my dark horse. |

Nice setup Ian.
Next chance for Sagans first big win today, but i think someone else will win it. Maybe Roelandts or someone from longer attack.
What the weather should be?
And will there be streams, i dont see any projected on steephill...

Thanks!
Sporza is definitely showing it, so on their site you could watch it. (sporza.be). Starts at about 14.30 or something.
Weather currently is 4°C and no rain, but it might rain later today. |

Pretty sure ive seen advert on Eurosport that they will be showing it as well. But obviously Sporza is your best bet.

Am sure there will be streams (or my rattle will be well and trully thrown out of my pram). As for the weather it looks like it *should* stay dry currently around 3C rising to nearly 10C later today. Chance of showers depending where you look but probably dry... |

Sounds like a fast start to E3. Think they are nearly an hour in and initial attackers all brought back. Weather reported to be bright but with a cold wind. |

Local weather report: Sunny, but cold and quite a bit of wind. Perfect racing conditions!

Roelandts thinking it won't come to a mass sprint today. He likes the weather just fine. Upon a question about how to shake Sagan he said: "This is different from Italy, these Flemish roads are always something different, this is really racing."
Boonen's wearing a specially designed jersey (on the back it says: 5 times). He thinks he's good enough to battle for the win. Hope so!

FIrst of 15 hills coming up and still no decisive break just a few away with a few seconds on the bunch who are chasing hard... |
