Hi Guys,
At work (no game access),Bored......
So I was wondering if you can replicate Sky`s Power Hill Train on PCM 2012?
I`m thinking lead guy on Indefinite Relay (say 65)
Next guy Relay (say60)
Next Guy Protecting Leader/GC Contender
Leader Dot 55
Would this work?
I know the figures depend on % climb, distance etc etc.and wouldn't be set in stone, but would the theory work?
Any ideas and advice welcome. |

In theory yes you could.
Relay one at a time like that is possible in PCM
But Leader dot 55 would only see you in trouble on the final climb

I have done it and you can do it but it depends on who wants to work and who doesnt. All I can tell you is that you will break the peloton to bits once you get to the 3rd last and 2nd last rider. Well I did at least but my 3rd last was Tom Danielson and 2nd last was Chris Froome and they were working for Wiggins so. It does work well once you get it though.

Thanks for the help and advice........plonker.Perhaps you can explain how to play like Barca on FM 2013 while your at it.
Thanks,Jakstar,
Did you use the theory and dot figures I suggested?
When I get a bit of time I`m going to try it out. |

i would avoid using the relay function when climbing. put only your first rider on a dot. assuming your on the final climb, start with your first domestique on a set dot and your other riders at maintain position but at a higher heart rate than the domestiques dot. this will save energy for the whole team as opposed to keeping everyone on dot all the time. you can leave weaker teammates on "protection" if you dont mind them wasting away really fast. as a rule though its always better to have a teammate up the road than one protecting you on a climb. as each of your riders falls off, up the pace with your remaining helpers and watch your rivals fall out the back. your last helper can either attack in the closing kilometers to force the others to chase and waste energy or just keep drilling it to the line and let your leader take over at the end. if your leader isnt real punchy i suggest just dotting at 99% for the real steep finishes and dont bother even sprinting unless your running out of road and still have red bar.
now this whole technique rests of the assumption that your pace setting is hurting your rivals and not your own leader. if your fairly isolated compared to other teams or lacking quality domestiques these techniques usually just serve to help your opponents. the pace you set has to match your leaders abilities and if youre just plain outclassed then its better to save your team to defend and protect your leader than put pressure on the peleton.
top 10 of all time in no particular order, not including the cannibal cause hes automatically #1:
-Gemininani -Nencini -Anquetil -Coppi
-Kelly -Hinault -Zabel -Bettini -Rebellin -Magni
..and honorable mention to Tom Simpson whos career was cut short.
Top 5 noobs most likely to tear it up this season:
-Phinney -Moser -TJ -Guardini -DURBO!
