Pais Vasco - 6th Stage ITT
Playing on Normal, with a ProContinental team.
All going quite well, have a rider, Pinot, 2nd in GC and Moser in top 10. Both good ITT ratings, so hopeful of maintaining these positions.
*However* no matter how many times I replay the stage (tried it about 10 times now), using different energy levels (for my earlier riders, a constant 60 will get them through), I cannot get any of the riders to the finish without having either ridiculously bad times or finding that Pinot/Moser invariably run out of energy before the line (really quickly, regardless of energy, almost as if this is a bug). It's a bumpy stage (hills, flat, hills), I've tried the tips to no avail.
Help! Anyone got any advice that might be helpful :-)
Is fitness on them not great? I've found i can out perform fitness during actual races with careful management, but in the ITT if other guys are fitter they will kill you as you cant keep anyone protected or get anyone else to do the work for you.
I've never experienced any sort of energy bug during TTs myself and I've done many of them.
Also, maybe you totally slaughtered Moser and Pinot yesterday? Guessing Pinot is lead, Moser his best climbing help. If you massive attacked yesterday with the pair of them, its possible that they havent recovered and that is why you are getting way faster energy drain then you other riders, who presumable took it easy in the last part of the stage once Moser and Pinot were ahead.
Many thanks for that... guess that must have been the answer: although the previous stage wasn't itself particularly hard on the team or individuals, it had been hard work the previous stages to defend the 2nd place so guess these things take their toll. I copped out in the end and ran it on detailed simulation to see what if any difference that made. It gave more solid but not spectacular results and Pinot dropped to 4th.
Thanks again, I will watch out for this in the future
