Tour de San Luis - Stage 7
Mresuperstar
i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%207/Profile.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/prp_zps2240497e.png Avelino (Prio), i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/wwe_zpsb6c72e16.png Greipel (WWE), i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/amx_zps91aadbbd.png Kupfernagel (AMEX), i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/hol_zpsfe2f7500.png Davis (Hollistar), and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/amx_zps91aadbbd.png Keough (AMEX) names that we are familiar to seeing are favoured to win the final stage of the 2013 Tour de San Luis.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%207/1.jpg

The last flag drop as the riders are on their way.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%207/2.jpg

The breakaway of the day gets away a few kilometers after the start.
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/vtf_zps1d97281a.png Ebsen (Vattenfall)
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/aip_zps544721ca.png Soto Pereira (Adira)
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/bin_zps9ee3c16e.png Bonnin (Bintang)
i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/bcr_zps86f2c872.png Jumabekov (BCR)

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%207/3.jpg

The KoM comes and goes with no interest as only Ebsen had come in with some points. Thus meaning i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/bin_zps9ee3c16e.png Seledkov (Bintang) will be San Luis King of the Mountains winner, followed by i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/ekc_zps98eb3bbc.png Hutchings (Ekspla) and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/hol_zpsfe2f7500.png Betancourt (Hollistar).

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%207/4.jpg

The sprint point goes uncontested as well with Ebsen rolling over before Soto Pereira and Jumabekov. Looks like they are more concerned about making it to the finish, and they are going good so far with a 6 minute lead with 130kms to go.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%207/5.jpg

100kms to go, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/hol_zpsfe2f7500.png Hollistar and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/prp_zps2240497e.png Prio-Porto having been doing all of the work. And have allowed the breakaway a maximum of 7'30" but are now starting to slowly reel them back in.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%207/6.jpg

We get a crash at the top of the climb as we ride over for the second time today, and everyone take a deep breath as it's i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/rbc_zps9a8b3bfb.png Salas (Alstom). Durasek can't be happy to lose a teammate but he should have no problem making it to the finish now.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%207/7.jpg

At the final sprint their is no motivation, so Bonnin even takes the time to stretch out. Jumabekov, Ebsen, then Bonnin.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%207/8.jpg

Starting the climb for the final time and the gap is down to 3'20". So i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/ing_zps78b9af5e.png Zabriskie is the virtual leader on the road again without his team doing any work today. Also i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/wwe_zpsb6c72e16.png WWE have started to chip in for Greipel.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%207/9.jpg

The breakaway gets over the top with a 3 minute lead with 37kms to go.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%207/10.jpg

A tight turn with 8kms to go and everyone stays on their bike, a sigh of relief can be heard over the team radios. The breakaway is losing ground fast as WWE is closing the peloton in.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%207/11.jpg

And again it's i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/wwe_zpsb6c72e16.png Kessiakoff who bring the breakaway back, 5kms to go. He has been absolutely brilliant over the past 7 days.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%207/12.jpg

As Kessiakoff pushes on there is no time for the GC contenders to put in a final attack against Zabriskie, so we go to the sprint were Kessiakoff finally peels off the front with 2,700 meters to go. Leaving Pineau to lead out Greipel and the rest of the sprinters.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%207/13.jpg

And it's just WWE making a small train. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/ekc_zps98eb3bbc.png Saramotins tries to stir something up as he starts his full sprint on the right with 1.8kms to go.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%207/14.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/wwe_zpsb6c72e16.png Greipel then kicks a 100 meters later with i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/bps_zps2b426596.png Feillu locked onto his wheel. Behind Feillu some was gone wrong with i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/mti_zps330e0e2d.png Vasylyuk's gears as he is fading back fast.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%207/15.jpg

So this quickly turns into a 5-way sprint. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/wwe_zpsb6c72e16.png Greipel, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/bps_zps2b426596.png Feillu, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/CT/ekc_zps98eb3bbc.png Saramotins, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/ing_zps78b9af5e.png Bazajez, and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/trh_zpsd616c798.png Geschke (who must have finally gotten roturn's message to sprint! Wink ). Where is i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/prp_zps2240497e.png Avelino, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/hol_zpsfe2f7500.png Davis, and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/amx_zps91aadbbd.png Kupfernagel?

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%207/16.jpg

About 10 riders back... They need to make a move. Every position counts as the points jersey is still on the line. Speaking of which, i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/ubi_zps47ce5481.png Lorenzetto is stuck back here as well.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%207/17.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/bps_zps2b426596.png Feillu waits as long as possible, and with 700 meters to go makes his move into the lead.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%207/18.jpg

But here comes i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/trh_zpsd616c798.png Geschke and i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/ing_zps78b9af5e.png Bazajev up opposite railings.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%207/19.jpg

And they go right past i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/bps_zps2b426596.png Feillu...

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/trh_zpsd616c798.png Geschke is looking to regain trust in his manager.

And i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/ing_zps78b9af5e.png Bazajev is looking to cap of a great tour for ING.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%207/20.jpg

And it's i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/trh_zpsd616c798.png Geschke who gets the win. Looks like the climbs hurt the pure sprinters more then expect. 2nd and Points Winner is i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/ing_zps78b9af5e.png Bazajev
with i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/bps_zps2b426596.png Feillu hanging on to take 3rd.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%207/21.jpg

i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Gustavovskiy/microjerseys/PCT/ing_zps78b9af5e.png Zabriskie gets across the line, and is your winner of the Tour de San Luis after his great ride against the clock on stage 4.

i1080.photobucket.com/albums/j335/mresuperstar2/Man-Game/Reports/San%20Luis/Stage%207/22.jpg

But the drama isn't over yet, there is a split in the peloton during the sprint!
It's a repeat of yesterday! Who missed out...

WAIT... Hold on. Don't break your viewing device managers -

The organizers thought that tiny gap would be way to harsh after 7 stages of racing, so they give the group the same time as the sprinters! You can all stop holding your breath now, the Tour de San Luis is over.
