I have just bought Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit and put it on my MacBook Air using Bootcamp. I've also just bought Pro Cycling Manager 2012. I have installed the game, with help from another mac, to do all the 'Activation key' bit as my windows 7 has no internet connection.
I have tried to launch it but when I click 'play' it loads and then crashes. Windows says I have the latest visual driver installed. I can't find out if I have a 3D graphics card. I don't know what to do. I REALLY can't work windows and I'm pulling my hair out. It would be great if you could help me.
It is not easy to find the problem with the information given.
If you want to know more about your computer, you could run dxdiag. Click the start button (in windows) and then type dxdiag, then press enter. On the display tab, you see information about your graphic card. If that does not help you, click "save all information" or whatever it is called in your language. Then upload the file here.
A known problem with this game are the intro videos. You can delete them and try to start the game again. The video folder is in C:\Program files\pcm12\ (the installation folder).

I had a look at your dxdiag file but I cannot tell whether the graphic card is supported by the game or not.
But maybe the problem comes from the screen size. DxDiag mentioned this resolution: 1366 x 768. Try to set this resolution for the game by opening the graphic config file in My documents\pcm12\ (I am not sure about the correct folder and file name because I am not in front of my game pc at the moment. If you cannot find it, post again so that I can have a look).
I have changed the screen resolution to 1024-768 and it still doesn't work. Earlier on it said this
"The graphics auto-configuration utility was unable to identify your video card. Default settings were applied, but these may be changed via the Options page. Over-optimistic settings may lead to poor game performance!"
I was not talking about your desktop resolution but about the in-game resolution. The file is called GraphicConfiguration.xml and can be found here: My documens\Pro Cycling Manager 2012\Config\
Open it with a text editor and change the resolution accordingly:
<ResolutionWidth>1366</ResolutionWidth>
<ResolutionHeight>768</ResolutionHeight>
But like I said, it could be that your graphic card is not supported and the message you just posted also leads into that direction.
I have seen your post in the other thread where you quoted something about parallel desktop. The game will NOT run on parallel desktop. You have to start Windows instead of Mac OS when booting up your Mac.
I don't have parallel desktop by the way. I used bootcamp. I emailed pcm and they said pro cycling manager doesn't work with bootcamp but I knew this was wrong. I asked them for a helpful answer and they havent contacted me back!
I can't even tell which graphic card you have. What you can try is checking out your graphic card on iOS and then manually downloading and installing drivers for it on Windows. If I remember correctly, I had to do this too when I was running Windows 7 on Mac. After you've done that, you can try running PCM again and maybe it will work.
First, try to find out on iOS what your video card is. Then google on the name of the video card + 'drivers' and you will most likely find a download site from the vendor. Download and install.
Thank you for your offer. PCM have actually contacted me back and given me a download link. I'm just trying to get the internet to work on windows 7 now but I can't. One of my family members is coming to help me on Sunday so hopefully I can get it to work then. Thank you for all your help! Your very kind!
Hello! I've got the game working! At last! Just shows, patience and determination is the key to success! PCM emailed me drivers that didn't work! BUT... I went back into bootcamp and selected the box "Download the latest Windows support software from Apple" Which basically remembers all for the Apple drivers and makes them compatible with Windows. I downloaded it and saved on a memory stick. You then open up windows and click setup on the windows support folder that I just downloaded on the stick. You then follow the instructions and it works!!!!! I'm really enjoying the game. Thanks for you helping me.
