1 month is over - well already 1 month and a day after the Tour of South China Sea - so its time for a monthly Rankings update.
PCT
Hollister top the standings after being the highest scoring team in the 12 stage Vuelta al Tachira, while WWE's performances there see them back up to 2nd having been the early leaders.
AirBaltic and Jaguar have race victories to their credit already, while Cisco and Sram are up there for having had a couple of decent races.
Promotion contenders Bouygues Telecom are into the Top 10, while some of their expected rivals are at the other end. Vueling and Vespa have hardly raced though, while Tinkoff and Volkswagen have not raced at all.

Now let's bring race days into consideration. Hollister, Cisco and WWE have used the most, so it is a good job for them that they are up at the top end of the scale. But actually, Hollister are doing quite well out of their race days so far, only being behind Sram and AirBaltic.
January is the worst month to look at all of this however, as there really hasnt been enough races for it to mean anything.

Over in the individual standings, it is Florentino Marquez who leads - but he isnt too far ahead of Alex Dowsett, considering that the stage race Dowsett won was only half as long.
Pellizotti and Greipel make WWE a strong presence in the Top 5, while Gavazzi is the highest placed rider to have scored in more than 1 race so far - Haussler, Vaitkus, Davis and Napolitano have all alsore scored in multiple races, and feature in the Top 10.

At one point in January, Iberia were above all PCT teams, so it is no surprise that they lead the CT standings 1 month in. They have been a pointscoring presences in all 4 CT races so far, winning 2 of them.
Up in 2nd are Kenya Airways. They won Luis Puig, which helped, but a 120 point return from Vuelta al Tachira is what has really put them up there. Allianz have made a promisingly consistent start, while Adira are the other C2 race winners.
The four teams on 0 have yet to start their season.

If Iberia keep this up they will be promoted by miles, meanwhile Gazelle show themselves to be 2nd in the projection standings - matching many people's predicted Top 2s. Allianz also looking like promotion challengers in 3rd.

The ever present Dietmar Mehr-Wenige tops the Individual standings, where Iberia are less present due to them splitting the points scoring opportunities between different riders. Moreno is still up there in 2nd though, after winning the Tour d'Algerie.
Iker Camano is in 3rd, already with a C1 Stage win to his name, with Rodas 4th after his mountain stage triumph in Algerie, Talabardon a consistent 5th, and Masuda up there in a surprise 6th after taking 2nd in the Tour of South China Sea.

Africa Tour
Just the Tour d'Algerie so far on the Africa Tour. Iberia won the race with Dani Moreno, and so they top the standings.

America Tour
The Clasico San Cristobal opened the season, but it is no surprise that the Vuelta al Tachira dominates the early America Tour stadnings. Marquez leads the invidual standings, while Hollister are the leading team - in a standing which they won last season.

Asia Tour
The most competitive Regional Tour so far with four races down: the Tour Down Under, plus a one day race in all three categories. Evian-MIAT have scored in all four of them, but that has not helped them much. AirBaltic lead the way, ahead of Sram-Riboxx and Team UPC. Theres work to be done for the Asian squads!
Tour Down Under champion Alex Dowsett heads the individual standings, while fellow Australian race winner Andre Greipel follows him.

Really interest, thanks SN. Hollister certainly look on track for the top of the table, particularly if they can keep doing what Jayco did last year - pack out the lower GC places.

Nice, don't know if we are allowed to post. I'll presume so...
On first looks, looks like Dyachenko had a real shocker for Cisco, only on 6 points
And looking forward to the Conti rankings. Haven't calculated it so hoping for a pleasant surprise (maybe a top 5?) |

Nice to see Marquez at the top, at least for few days / weeks. He'll really need to continue in the same fashion as in Tachira in his remaining 5 races to keep us away from relegation. Anyway good start, but we have to continue in the same fashion on coming cobbled races.

I find the fact that two teams have yet to race to be quite interesting. Hopefully this is not something I need to concern myself about. Also pleased to see that we haven't messed up completely and currently look to be scoring a decent amount of points.

Looks much better for us than I expected after Tachira / China.

Yeah, but on the other hand I got 80 points from Schelling, Galiev and Vesely. That's more than Dyachenko was ever going to get from a top 10 in the GC.

Not expecting much. Probably top 15, but I hope that after this month my start will start scoring points more seriously. |

Hmm. Food for thought. Not so happy with that now with 11th on points per race day. Still, second is nice for now |

All to play for in the CT, some of the teams that have entered C1 races have had some excellent returns, while some have had that gamble blow up in their faces.
I think we are scoring at a decent rate, certainly without Rohregger not racing at all, but unless we get some surprise results I think were are fighting for top 10, not promotion.
No problem, because I've started planning next year already .

Knew it. It wasn't the best start of the season, but when the mountain calendar starts, there are points. |

Hollister have made a good solid start to the season - but then again the Australian and Americas races are really their cup of tea so is not a big surprise.
Once the European season gets going we will have more answers I think.
Iberia do already look very awesome, I see no reason why that cannot continue!

The projection column is really quite interesting. Like it alot.
Even though it's early days - always seems that the team that gets off to the fastest start ends up hanging in there all season. |

It looks like the only way is up, or at least I'd like think things can't get any worse then my current rate of one point per race day.

Wow, this is a really nice addition SN! I have studied the rankings in several minutes now and it's so exciting to see us in the middle of the table and predicted to stay there based on the points pr raceday. But as you say, it's really difficult to make anything out of this before the season really kicks off. And ranking-wise it will probably just go one way for us after this, downwards
I also hope that AirBaltic, Sram, UPC, Jaguar, Hollister, WWE and several other teams keep away from Asia the rest of the season

And this is why I only went for a Top 5 in the Asian Tour
We started off well I think, and still only 7th. Plus many others that are actually targeting Asia still behind us. Will be tougher to get into the Top 5 I think.

Thanks for the very extensive stats!
I like the 'points per race' ranking. The set of data it's based on is indeed too small for it to be an accurate prediction of the final rankings. But it does put the amount of points the teams have earned so far into perspective. And that is much needed because of the big differences in days raced.
I'm very content with the 120 points the team have gathered in just 6 race days. It was a good start and I hope we can continue this form into February.
