Hey, I'm Ernesto. I was born in Chile in 1987, in Santiago. I always loved to cycle, and as I was riding down the streets of Santiago, a local scout of a Chilean cycling team spotted me. He asked me if I'd like to ride professionally, and I ofcourse said yes. That was the start of my jouney as a pro-cyclist. I was riding in this little team in small races, and got better and better results. After spending 3 years racing in that team, I switched to a team, that participates in a bit bigger races. There I had really great successes in especially mountainous and hilly races. I consider myself as a climber more than a puncheur, but still, I have plenty of room to improve in both disciplines. I'm below average on the TT-bike, but I've always compensated this weakness by gaining times in the mountains and the hills. As I was winning plenty of races all-around South America, it was quite clear, that a bigger teams are going after me, and I have plenty of offers, from even PCT teams! I wanted to continue training in South America, as I wanted to stay close to my family, so I was looking for a team with a base in South-America. There was an ideal offer...
It was from a venezuelan team, which is PCT, I think you already guessed it, Androni Giocatolli - Venezuela!
As I arrived to their base in Venezuela, they asked me a question, if I'd want to write a blog about my adventures in the team, and I said yes, why not?! So here I am, writing this, and I found out some interesting things in the December training camps... For my surprise, I was able to keep up the pace with the biggest names on the team, even with famous guys like, Rujano or Pellizotti! It was an incredibly good feeling to even beat them on some of them!
That closes my first blog entry, see you soon!
P.S. Really can't wait for the season to start, hope you that you're going to follow me to my journey to the Giro!
Thanks Fernando for the Translate!

Team
2012 years together
Franco Pellizotti
Pellizotti's case reached the Court of Arbitration for Sport in March 2011. After asking the court for a speedy verdict, he was suspended for two years after it upheld the UCI's appeal. His ban lasted until May 2012. The Court also annulled all results from May 17, 2009, meaning that Pellizotti lost a stage win and third place overall in the Giro d'Italia and a stage win and overall victory in the mountains and combativity classifications in the Tour de France.
Following the conclusion of his ban, Pellizotti signed with the Androni Giocattoli-Venezuela team.
José Rujano
At the end of 2010, José Rujano signed a contract for two years with the Italian team Androni Giocattoli, directed by Gianni Savio who said that he "believed in his talent" and wanted "to revive his career." Rujano was recruited at the same time as the Italian climber Emanuele Sella, Savio referring to giving these two riders a "last chance".
His main objective for 2011 was the Giro d'Italia, and especially its mountain stages. He lived up to his objectives since he prevailed on 2 mountain stages in the race: stage 9 from Messina to Etna after original winner Alberto Contador was removed from the rankings due to a doping affair and stage 13 from Spilimbergo to Grossglockner, while finishing sixth in the overall classification.
Roberto Ferrari
Roberto Ferrari (born 9 March 1983 in Gavardo) is an Italian cyclist who is riding for the UCI World Tour team Lampre-Merida. He previously rode in 2011 and 2012 for the UCI Professional Continental team Androni Giocattoli-Venezuela. After stage 3 of the 2012 Giro d'Italia in Horsens, Denmark, Ferrari was relegated from 10th to 192nd position after the race jury ruled that he was responsible for a crash that brought down world champion Mark Cavendish and race leader Taylor Phinney since he swerved from the left to the right side of the road in the final meters. He stated after that mishap that "I don't care what is going on behind me". He did not gain further public approval with this statement. Ferrari later won stage 11 – the longest stage of the race – in a sprint finish in Montecatini Terme.
