[PCT/CT] C1/C2 Race Selections
SportingNonsense
Attached are the selection files you need to choose your race calendar for the forthcoming season.

PCT teams receive 175 race days, CT teams 150.

It is quite simple to do, you just put a '1' in the box by a race you want your team to ride.

You also need to check which HC races you have been allocated, and place a '1' by their names in the file. You may not choose any other HC races to participate in, but you can drop out from any HC race that you have been awarded.

GP Quebec and GP Montreal remain a paired race. You either have to ride both of them, or none of them.

The deadline for returning these files won't be until after transfers, and you can make changes to your choices before the deadline. But I expect most teams have a plan for where they want to race already.

Every race has a limit of 20 teams in it. First priority for C1 races is PCT teams, and for C2 races it is CT teams. Second priority goes on a first-come first-serve basis based on the order in which the files are sent in.

If a race is full, I will let you know and let you pick a different race.

Once ready, the file should be sent to the SN-ManGame account https://pcmdaily.com/profile.php?looku...okup=51454 PMs should be title "C1/C2 Selection"

Will send it tomorrow. Already have the wanted races but no access from my mobile. Hope this won`t influence the first come first in for me. Wink

Great to see all the progress at the moment.

seeing as my calender was sorted well before transfers started it was easy to find the races and I've already sent it back.

Sent, needed first come first serve on some of my choices so got it back in as soon as possible. Smile

Don't like the first come first serve thingy.. It's gonna cost me a lot of races because my team isn't complete yet Sad

For the "first-come first-serve" policy, I suppose the last file you've sent in counts? Otherwise I'll rush in something now and fix it later. Pfft

If theres 10 races you desperately want then send in a file with just those 10 and add the rest later. Be a nightmare if everybody did that though

In reality, the first come first serve is only relevant for those wanting to race in the race category not designed for their team.

With 29 teams in the PCT division last year, only 1 race had more than 20 teams interested.

Decided to go on my laptop again to send it in. Just to make sure. Wink

I agree with Vien btw; random picks would be better than "first-come first-serve".

To make a well thought out selection of which C1 races to apply for, a CT team needs to have their full season planning done. There's no use in picking a C1 race if it turns out your leader doesn't have the race days to race there for example.

Some managers don't even have their leaders signed yet...

This means that rushing transfers is rewarded, which isn't a good thing in my opinion.

Also, I think many people didn't know that there was a "first-come first-serve" policy coming, while other apparently did know.

In the end it's not a huge problem because, as you say, it is basically only relevant for those who want to race outside their category. But still, it might make a difference...

I think you made a good choice, roturn.

I already sent in mine, since I want to get as many races in a specific region as possible.

Well, It will be first come first serve to an extent. I wont have a situation where in tied decisions, one team gets into 3 races it wants to and another misses out on all 3.

Ok, that helps a lot. Thanks.

why don't I have a quote button?

anyway @dubbeldekker I see it differently to you, I don't see it as rewarding people for rushing their transfers I see it as rewarding those who are organised and have already taken it upon themselves to plan their calender out when the calender and race profiles were announced. Personally I didn't know about the fact there was going to be a first come first served basis but I made sure I got my file back asap after I found out. (which was when this thread was tweeted, so after it's creation)

Also i'm yet to complete my squad and am missing 2 Leaders but I know exactly what the balance of my team will look like and have been building my team around the central plan that I had when making my calender rather then seeing who is available during the transfer season and deciding what kind of team and what kind of calender I wanted. And I doubt it will make too much of a difference as it's unlikely that there will be many races that are oversubscribed, or at least not oversubscribed by teams that are of that category. The main one I can see problems for is the tour of america 21 day stage race.

the only people I feel sorry for are those in another timezone that can't be online now but it's 10pm in england, I think it's roughly 5pm in america and roughly 10am in Australia so now is probably the best time to at least make it feasable that as many people as possible are able to be online/ not having to stay uplate or get up early.

please don't see this as a dig at you because it's not intended that way it's just my opinion on the subject you and vien raised.

DubbelDekker
The only thing that offends me is that you assume I might be offended by someone having a different opinion. Wink

I agree it won't make a huge difference; so I'm not going to make a fuss about it. I just think random selection would be a slightly better choice. But you do make a fair point about rewarding managers who are organized. Also, SN just said it will only be first-come first-serve to an extent; so that makes it even less of a problem.

I've sent in my file btw.

Do you try to say ToA will be oversubscribed?

I obviously don't know what it will be this season, but look at last year's discussion thread to see the startlist Wink

I didn't think you'd have a problem with my opinion, just thought it might sound a unintentionally agressive when i read it back.

and due to the load times and how much I typed i hadn't seen SN's post that says to an extent.

DubbelDekker
No problem, I understand. Smile

Yeah, i'm going to take my time and carefully pick my races
I want all my riders to reach their full race day allocation AND to have the best chance at scoring any points.
this also means having to adjust as i finalise my squad, which could be a few days to a week.
I dont mind the first come first served. It could hurt me, but oh well, i'll just choose other races even if they done suit my team.
Although i will have a truly massive rage if i miss out on certain races, which will probably end in a rage quit. Not the best attitude but thats how much i care.
Oh, and i need to make sure i get max xp for a few riders.

I intend to plan races like I did last season; pick a few must ride races and then mash my keyboard until I run out of race days Wink
