Just decided to get into the career mode of PCM 2012 (my first PCM game!),and I know it was going to be confusing by reading lots of posts on the forum and looking at vids on You Tube, and it is!
But I`ve played Football Manager ,so I knda know how sim/day/manager games work.
The problem I`m having is training the riders.I bring up the coloured training bar graphics and I`m guessing the tall red bars are when that rider on that scedule will peak?Is that correct?
So basically you need to see when each rider is riding the race he`s targeted and select the schedule when the red bars match up with his targeted race...yes?
If thats the case, why is there a number of different schedules for each race,eg Vuelta_1,Vuelta_2 etc etc?
What do the Yellow.Light Green etc etc bars signify?
Also I can see a button where you can edit training schedule, but that doesn`t seem to work/open,why?
General questions.
I presume that ALL the riders get fitter the more days you advance into the calendar and the ones you invite to a Traing Camp just get fitter faster...yes?
Does each trainer only train a certain number of riders, because on my little foray into the career mode with Orica Greenedge I`ve only got 2 trainers, training 8 riders each, but I`ve 30 riders on the roster. So really I need to sign 2 more trainers straight away so all of my riders are trained.Or do you not need each rider having an individual trainer?
Sorry for so many Noob questions ,but the manual isn`t very informative.
Any helpful links or tips very welcome.
Sorry for my long rambling post, thanks for reading and helping The Cycling Rookie.

Dark green is the highest fitness level.

They have different approaches to the peak plus often some secondary peaks for other races.

Different fitness levels, obviously between red (~55) and dark green (80)

Only the 30 custom schedules can be edited, scroll down the drop-down menu to find them.

Yes. Although later on, riders in an off-phase (lower bars in schedule) decrease in fitness without training camps. That's necessary, because higher fatigue (yellow bar in training menu) leads to less maximum training fitness.

Only if a rider has room to progress left (represented by stars in the rider info), it makes sense. Plus, younger and better riders should obviously be preferred.
8 riders is the perfect amount per coach, but if really necessary, up to 10 are okay. Remember that all assigned riders will improve less because of that, though!
Most of the time, 2 coaches are enough, because not more than 16 riders are worth being extra trained.
No assigned coach doesn't mean no improvement btw, it's just slower.

Yes you want the biggest bar for the riders main week of races (maybe 2 peaks, depends on the rider)
Vuelta_1 etc. are pre made training plans for specific races. Ones with Vuelta will have a rider peak during the Vuelta. ones with Giro will have him peak during the Giro.
The yellow and light green ones signify less fitness than the dark green. So a rider who is just there to support would be best with only light green bars
You can only edit Custom_01 etc.
As all riders are assigned a schedule automatically, yes, but it wont be linear
Not every rider needs a trainer. i find that 2 will do, just keep rotating them to the needs of the team
I know there`s lots of different situations and differences, but reading the other posts/forums..
If you had 2 completely different riders, say Wiggins and a rookie. They both were on the same training schedule, both had raced 15 days (to gain Max fitness level)and both of they`re schedule`s had Dark Green Bars peaking at this race they were both in,would both of the riders be at 80 Fitness?
