Stage 5's huge time gaps may well have decided the tour, but nothing is fully decided until after today.

Fernandez Oliveira took the first KoM points ahead of Voigt. Also in the break are Colby, Stetina, Gonzalo, Orozco, Duran, Marquez and Fertonani.

Voigt took the next points.

And on the next climb, Ghisalberti launched some attacks.

Pozzovivo, Rojas Diaz, Ghisalberti, Camano and Blanco are the strongest, with Caucchioli and Camano also ahead of the peleton lead, by Orbitel's Osella as neither Orbitel leader attacked. Perhaps they would rather take 2nd and 3rd than challenge Pozzovivo?

All of the attackers are caught though and Orbitel's tactic seems to have worked. Well, I say all, I infact mean all - apart from Pozzovivo.

All is not well up with the break either as it is beginning to split. Orozco and Duran are the strongest.

Pozzovivo is already a minute ahead as Astarloza powers over the top of the penultimate climb, dragging the Orbitels with him but noone else.

Duran and Orozco hit the bottom of the final slopes.

They have a minute on 7 riders, 6 break survivors plus Pozzovivo. Astarloza, Pereiro and Valjavec are dangling off the front of a group of 20 and are caught at the foot of the climb. Riders try to attack away from the peleton but everyone lacks the strength to get a gap, things are looking good once again for Pozzovivo.

Only Orozco could follow, dropping Duran and Fertonani but soon the Orbitel rider would be dropped by the yellow jersey too.

Unable to attack, the pack just sets a high pace but Pozzovivo continues to pull away.

He has over 90 seconds with 4km to go over Orozco, Caucchioli, Ghisalberti, Astarloza, Valjavec, Blanco and Pereiro, with SouthAustrali.com's Rojas Diaz just a little behind them.

Its an impressive victory for Pozzovivo, he has ripped apart Georgia over the past two stages.

It was a photo finish for the final podium spots, with Valjavec edging 2nd ahead of Ghisalberti, with Caucchioli 4th.

Today was a bad day for some of yesterdays surprise strengths.
Efimkin (7th Overall) lost 7'32.
Golcer (9th Overall) lost 9'10.
Pasamontes (3rd Overall) lost 14'35.
Hagen (8th Overall) lost 18'37.

Jersey wise its absolute Pozzovivo domination. He has won the KoM competition, almost certainly won the Overall and best Young rider and for him to lose the points jersey, Farrar would need either 1st or 2nd, or Tombak would need 1st.
