well, we shouldn't really expect anything that wows us. pretty much every year, everyone's reaction to the Tour parcours is distinctly "meh".
once in a while however there are exceptions
2004 for instance.

i want Alpe Huez back for sure...
I really don't want to go 'meh'
The tour needs a 'wow' it suffered last year, lets hope it can bring it back up.

well, nothing's really gonna wow us unless something majorly weird happens with the TTs, or if the Ventoux is included. you can say what you want about the Alpe d'Huez, but there are far more selective climbs
what I'd really like would be a stage finishing on the Tourmalet but climbing all of it (the Tourmalet is a monster) or on Luz Ardiden. when was the last time the tour route included Luz Ardiden? 94?
EDIT: just checked, it was used again in 2001 and 2003.

In 1988 there was an ill-conceived preface – a three-kilometre team time trial that culminated in a flying kilometre time trial for one of the riders. Guido Bontempi of Carrera won it but the inventor of the format was made to sit in a darkened room until he'd come to his senses.

I hope there isn't one, but I'm 99% sure there will be one.
L'Équipe are reporting as certain that Hautacam and Alpe d'Huez are there, along with a stage finish in italy at Prato Nervoso using the col du Restefond

let's see. on my part, the whole route is turning out to be distinctly "meh".
every year when there is a defending champion, the route is almost always (intentionally or not) one that benefits the strengths of that same rider.
this being Contador, I'm expecting only one long ITT plus a long TTT.
I'd also love to see the Col de Madeleine

I dont think there will be a TTT in for one simple reason: the war with the UCI.
the uci is taking a lot of races organized by the ASO to a lower level, so the war is on more then ever.
and the ASo won't put a TTT in because the Eindhoven TTT a few days earlier. if theres a TTT in the tour, every team will go to eindhoven with full strength for a last practice. if theres no TTT in the tour, team will send a weak team to eindhoven which migth mean that sponsors quit. thats what the ASO wants...
so no TTT imo |

I'm just hoping for a few interesting stages and not first 10 stages 100% flat and then 'just some' mountains... |

I'm interested in the stage profiles themselves. especially that stage 16, since the start and finish locations' names mean nothing to me.

It seems that the Jausiers stage will feature two HC climbs: the Col de Pradarena and the Cime de la Bonette. |

Somebody didn't watch Lance in his strive for more tour titles, I reckon! |
