We got a sub-section, might as well use it
This is NOT the game itself, so DONT post any applications.
Just thought i'd share the updated rules and ideas.
Also this needs a name, and i cant think of a good one.
Application
Spoiler To join post in the following format
Team Name:
Title Sponsors (up to 2):
Nationality:
The first 10 applications will get WT status. After that all teams will be guaranteed CT status. Of the remaining applications a small panel will select the next 6 WT teams.
Nationalization
Spoiler The Title Sponsors and the Nationality will dictate this. It is recommended that each team have 50% of its riders from the nations of the sponsors and nationality. This is not a requirement, but meeting and passing that 50% will result in bonuses to the team.
The Main Sponsor will contribute 25%, the Secondary Sponsor 15% and the Nationality 10%.
If your sponsors and nationality are the same then all your riders will be from the same nation.
If, for example, your main sponsor it UK, secondary ITA and nationality ESP then 25% must be British, 15% Italian and 10% Spanish.
If you have 50% British, but only 10% Italian and 2% Spanish you do not meet the minimum requirements, but you will get some bonuses as you exceed 1 part.
Thus there are 4 areas of bonuses. 1 for main, 1 for secondary, 1 for nationality and 1 for meeting all 3 others.
Bonuses for Main Sponsor: More Money or Easier Contract Renewals
Bonuses for Secondary Sponsor: More Money or Easier Contract Renewals
Bonuses for Nationality: Better Wildcard chances or More Money
Bonuses for combination: More Money, Better Wildcard chances and ???
2 Divisions
Spoiler There will be 2 divisions. The top division is the World Tour (WT). The second division is the Continental Tour (CT).
The WT contains 16 teams. The CT contains all the rest and is unlimited in size.
Draft
Spoiler To make the squads there will be a draft.
Before each round the managers will PM me their list of riders for that round.
The WT will get a 4 round head start on the CT. But round 4 will be limited to a certain type/age of rider. This is to create some separation between the divisions, but only a relatively small one. There may also be a limit imposed on round 3 as well.
The First Round Order will be generated using a random number generator. After this it will follow a serpentine system. That is 1,2,3,4,5… for round 1 then 16,15,14,13… for round two. At round 5 the CT teams join. Their order will be randomly generated. They will pick ahead of the WT teams. Then the serpentine will resume.
In the Offseason, instead of transfers there will be another draft. This will be more similar to the NFL way of drafting. The lowest ranked team will get 1st pick of the available riders, while the top ranked team gets last pick. CT and WT draft at the same time but CT then WT ie. Lowest CT team, then lowest WT team, 2nd lowest CT, 2nd Lowest WT etc.
Wildcards
Spoiler All WT teams will be all WT races. This means there are 6 wildcard spaces for each race. CT teams will apply for these spots. The best 6 applicants will be selected by me.
The determining factors are Nationality, Riders, Previous Results and anything else I may need to think of to separate the applicants.
Applying for a wildcard will cost money. The Tour of Beijing and the Canadian One-Days will be the cheapest. The Tour de France will be the most expensive. A full list of costs will come later.
Calendar
Spoiler All WT teams must race all WT races. There are 6 wildcards for each WT race.
There will be large selection of CT races to choose from. Each team will be sent a list of races they are to participate in. They can them swap any races for any other race, as long as the total race days remains the same.
The WT teams will be sent a small selection of CT races. Again they can be swapped to the same race day total.
These calendars will be related to nationalities and orientations.
Race Day Limit
Each rider will have a 60 day limit to accommodate the larger calendar.
Rankings
Spoiler Each race and stage earns points.
WT and CT will have separate rankings. These rankings will affect Contract Renewals, Draft Picks, Money, Divisions.
Full points tables will be available later.
Relegation/Promotion
Spoiler The top11 ranked WT teams will be safe. The top 5 CT teams will be weighed against the bottom5 WT teams. The decision will involve HQ quality, results, riders and anything I may need to separate them. Thus we could have 5 teams up and down. Minimum of 2 up and down.
Money
Spoiler Every team will start with a set budget, which will be greater for WT teams. Teams will earn more money through results, rankings and nationalization bonuses.
Money will be used for renewals, scouting and wildcards. Money can also be used to buy other teams draft picks. May be other uses not yet thought of.
Scouting
Spoiler There is a scouting aspect.
Each team will be sent a basic report on some riders from each of its nations. You can spend money to get better reports, more riders in the reports and more regions.
If you see a rider you may like you can pay to sign them.
More details to be worked out as we go along
Jerseys
Spoiler You can use custom jerseys. But don’t spam established jersey makers.
Hopefully a couple of people will be happy to be specific game jersey makers.
If a sponsor already has a jersey in game then that will be used until all other sponsors have a jersey.
Contract Renewals
During the draft the order in which the riders are selected will decide their initial contract selection.
Rounds 1,4,7,10,13 etc. will have 1 year contracts
Rounds 2,5,8,11,14 etc will have 2 year contracts
Rounds 3,6,9,12,15 etc will have 3 year contracts
In the Offseason there will be the opportunity to renew some of these riders. A new contract will depend on team and rider nationality, results, rankings, money. New contracts will always be 3 years. You can opt out of renewing certain riders, this will make other riders easier to renew.
Goals
Spoiler Goals will have no impact on money. They may help with wildcards.
Role-Playing Aspect
Spoiler Anyone can create a custom rider. Their age will dictate their stats.
Like the PCMCL riders will comment etc. The better the comments etc the more “points†they will get. “Points†will be spent on stat increases.
Managers comments etc will earn them “team pointsâ€. These “team points†will be spent on increasing non-custom riders stats.
There will be a limit on non-custom rider progression.

I got one question left...
What do you exactly mean with bonus for combination?(in Nationalisation) Do you get a bonus for both sponsors from the same country, for countries that fit together(NL-Belgium, UK-USA, Spain-Portugal) or something else?
Oh, and since the Roleplaying stats aren't decided yet, can I do a suggestion? Maybe you can make the MO value for stage racers 1 or 2 higher and the PRL 1 or 2 lower... Just an idea

@Jesl
Where you could meet the 25% of your main sponsor you could fail the 10% of the nationality. The combination bonus is an extra bonus for meeting all 3 sponsor minimums.
I'll see how the MO and PR changes effect the overall look.

(Still) looking good.
Am I understanding it correctly if all WT-one day races give same points. Shouldn't you get more for winning P-R than GP de Quebec?
Perhaps just up the pts. 25 for the monuments?

Ah, I understand now. But if I understand correctly, if for example your sprinter is 33 years old, you start with sprint above 85. 18: 69, 19: 70 (+4*1)23: 74 24: 76 (+2*2) 26: 80 27: 83 28: 86. I'm sure I do miss something, but what do I miss?
