Hey, I was just wondering. Has anyone ever seen two riders of a computer controlled team in the BOTD? Cause I've never seen that. Makes it kind of unrealistic as you see two or more riders of the same team in BOTDs often in real life. |

Now you mention it, not really...
Well... Sometimes at the end of a stage, yes...
When the stage is uphill...

It's quite rare, but it does happen. I've seen it a few times, but it's usually when the break is really large. And by that, I mean 15 or more riders.

I've seen it quite a bit in the smaller races, .2 type ones where the field is reduced
I've got it recorded in my Hammarling story, where it happens a few times, even when the break is normal sized

Hi guys it`s another Rookie question I have about Breakaways.
If you manage to get a rider in the breakaway, what can you do to effect the breakaway.I wanted them to ride faster so I put my guy on 85 DOT and he just raced off on his own.I tried 75 DOT ,same result.
Will other breakaway guys follow sometimes or never?
Also how do you try to slow down the breakaway?
I just had him on maintain position ,and he took turns leading. Is that all he can do,except attack?
Thanks for your understanding and patience again.
Rookie. |

You can't really force the other escapees to do what you want. They'll speed up and slow down like they want themselves.
What you should do if you want your rider to increase the pace without going solo is to use the "Relay" button. You use it either with R key, or click this button:
Then your rider will help pacing the group, without riding away solo - unless he's too strong for the other breakaway riders obviously.

This is just dumb AI. It happens for 2 reasons your rider goes zooming off:
1) If you have 2 more or riders in the break the other riders don't like working so much and sometimes refuse to at all. So when you put one guy on the dot he just rides off while everyone else sits behind your 2nd team mate. They usually realize (not always) and form a chase but after having been distanced up to 30 seconds or so. Note this can be abused very easily.
2) If your rider in the break is much stronger than his compatriots they (rightly) don't want to help you out and just follow you. When you switch to the dot rather than relay it can cause them to fall back at a slow speed (its just dumb AI) before beginning a chase.
These problems occur more in smaller breaks but can still arise in large breaks. |

I've seen breakaways of a normal size with 2 riders of the same team, not often but sometimes |
