Team Credexbank are a major bank situated in the Eastern European country of Belarus. They will be the sole sponsor of the team, which will be lead by former Eurovision Cycling Team DS Ste117.

The aim of this team is to promote the country of Belarus and the talent it processes. A Sponsor spokesmen had this to say "Belarus has talent in Cycling, in this new team we aim to bring these talented riders to the focus of the Cycling world, this remains our ultimate aim". Although riders from other nations around the world will be welcomed, the core of the team will be available to nation of which the sponsor operates in. Ste117 had this to say " I understand the challenge that I have undertaken here and it will be difficult, I believe in opening new doors from nations who haven't had as much success as others, I want to change that with Belarus, the development of riders in this country is key for the future of the sport in Belarus".

A jersey has been requested to a kind shirtmaker who has offered to take on the task. We can reveal that it will promote the colours of Belarus aswell as bare the logo of our wonderful sponsor Credexbank.

We know look at what riders are available as a free agent and draw up a shortlist before the transfer season starts. When this opens we aim to successfully negotiate deals with teams around our region in a bid to bring the best riders we can within our budget.

At the start of the 2014 season Credexbank relinquished their role as sponsor of the team therefore making way for yet another bank to sponsor the team as of now, they are BelarusBank. With the implosion of Cycling in Belarus trying to gather momentum this could a worthwhile move for the sponsor.

Credexbank Jersey Presentation

Today we present our Jersey for the 2013 Man Game to the public and rest of the Man Game.

i648.photobucket.com/albums/uu204/Ste117_2009/credexbank.png

We decided that we would promote Belarus as a country aswell as Credexbank. The colours of Belarus dominate the jersey with the red and green (stripes). The pattern makes an appearance on the jersey on the sleeves. The back of the jersey we have gone for a white panel to offer a mixture of colours, with the Credexbank jersey. A big thank you goes to Jakstar for offering and creating this wonderful jersey, great work.

Team Credexbank Transfer Activity

With a full team to buy in the transfer window, Belarusian outfit Credexbank had a lot of negotiating to do in the 2 weeks of the window. With a budget set of 1. 6 million Credexbank needs to sign a min of 15 riders for the coming season.

Director Ste said “ The transfer season for a new team is always a difficult time, we have to bring in the right riders to suit the teams policy and determine a way forward in which the team will take with the riders we will sign. I feel as a Director Sportive that I have fulfilled this”.

Let’s start with the important role in the team and that’s the leaders, this season we will have two leaders who are:
Przemyslaw Niemiec who has signed for 200,000. He is an extremely experienced Polish rider who we hope will do well in Stage Races and One Day Classics this season.
Alois Kankovsky is a Czech Sprinter who we picked up on a Free, we hope he can win as many sprints as possible in the coming season.

More to follow in the coming week on Credexbank’s transfer dealings.

Team Credexbank announce 2013 roster

Today we announce our full team roster for the new season. We feel we have enough talent to fulfill a steady season. In Kankovsky, Clarke, Niemiec and Papok we hope to get wins mainly in one day classics.

High interest has gone in to the country of our sponsorship, Belarus, with the signings of Siarhei Papok, Vadim Guliev, Kanstantsin Khviyuzau, Stanislau Bazhkou, Alexei Tsikhanau, Ilia Koshevoy. With some of these riders still at a young age we are determined to progress them into great riders of the future and follow the likes of Vasil Kiryienka.

Making the transition from Eurovision to Credexbank are Sebastien Siedler, the veteran impressed last season and we hope he can offer a supporting role to our best sprinters, Tino Thomel, we still feel he can progress over time into a good sprinter, Robert Retschke, he proved a very active rider getting into breakaways which got the backing from his DS and Oleg Chuzhda, a good Time Trailist he mustered out some good results last season.

Also joining the team Simon Clarke, a strong sprinter he will be looking for results of his own aswell as helping out Kankovsky. Adrian Honkisz has also signed from Milka, he will be a vital help to Golas and Niemiec in the hills and mountains.

Credexbank welcome two loan signings they both originate from Kazakhstan and join from PFG Armavia, they are Danii Forminykh and Sergey Bormatenkov. Theyw ill provide vital help for all our leaders in the coming season.

Credexbank make their debut in Postojna

Slovenia welcomed a new team to the Cycling world for their race debut. The team that had been chosen to sport this honour of a team debut were Niemiec, Golas, Bashkou, Bormatenkov, Forminkh, Honkisz and Tsikhanau. The main leaders for this team in the race would be Niemiec and Golas.

The two mentioned are our strongest riders in the team for this race and pose a real threat for the type of terrain.

Golas has a reasonable sprint and can get over hills well. Niemiec is more focussed for stage races with his strength lying in mountains and time trailing.

Golas will go on to be the best rider on our team by finished in 4th in our debut race. Both the management as the sponsors are delighted with this result. DS Ste117 goes on to say "Golas showed all his strengths today and with a good team around him to look after him, it is a great result both for him and a great start to Cycling for Credexbank, we hope these results continue in the races to come as success is key to increasing the popularity of Cycling in Belarus".

Credexbank's early Season Success

Credexbank have enjoyed a brilliant start to life in the Continental Division flourishing in 2 of their 3 races so far this season. Following the 3rd place finish Michel Golas achieved in GP Postojna, Alois Kankovsky finished 3rd in a brilliant exciting sprint with Hans Dekkers (Allianz) and Gert Steegmans (Banco) at the flat one day classic Dorpenomloop Rucphen. Kankovsky had a good team around him in Thomel, Clarke, Siedler and Papok. Our team shown their intentions throughout the race in helping other teams to chase down the breakaway at various stages of the race.

When the break was caught it was down to our lead out train to give Kankovsky the best possible chance at a win. Our train consisted of Simon Clarke, Sairhai Papok and Alois Kankovsky our last man and fast man. It was a superb leadout by Clarke and Papok that put Kankovsky in a brilliant position. Papok put in a good sprint to finish 9th.

DS Ste117 had this to say on his team's performance" We are delighted that we have shown our colours in the sprints this season already, it shows what strong sprinters we have and what we can be capable of. It was also important to show with can get results on different terrain after Golas done so well in Postojna, as this is our best wasy at getting as many points as possible. Overall I feel the team has come along way already and I am very confident in the riders we have that these results will continue and perhaps achieve higher. But this division is a tough division to be in with many good riders and teams".

Golas flying the flag for Credexbank in Croatia

In a race that doesn't suit any rider in our team, it was important for the team to show their colours in any way they could. Golas stepped out of the wilderness early on and got into the break.

i45.tinypic.com/311q61v.jpg

Golas attacking to force a break.

Unfortunatlely the attack didn't pay off and he was reeled back in. DS Ste was straight down the earpiece to his riders "Come on try again, we need a rider in the break of the day". Who responded, Stanislau Bazhkou.

Credexbank fail to meet expectations in their first goals of the season

Team Credexbank have failed to meet the first 2 goals of the season at Kwita Izina and Windhoek TT. DS Ste had hoped one of his riders will manage an overall win in Africa but the closest they came was 14th with Stanislau Bazhkou. Although Bazhkou was active in a break on stage 1 and showed some signs of good form in the 2 stages that followed it wasn't enough to achieve the goal set by the management.

Meanwhile at Windhoek, Kanstantsin Khviyuzau, Daniil Fominykh and Oleg Chuzhda finished 35th,20th and 32nd respectively. Very dissapointing for Chuzhda who is seen a good time trailist for our team and we expected more from him.

Despite the failure in these goals the sponsors remain happy despite the team still looking for its first win of the season.

Clarke claims top 10 placing in Ukraine

Simon Clarke put in a steady performance to clinch 7th place in the Donetsk GP. With help from Papok and Kankovsky the Aussie wasn't short of support in the final km. Although at top 10 is a great achievement Credexbank DS Ste said "I expected maybe a top 5 or higher with Kankovsky, we need to start bettering our results to show cycling fans in Belarus that we are improving our talent and also show our sponsors that we or doing a good job, we as a cycling team need to start making progress". Despite pressure from higher authority DS Ste feels he has the full backing of the sponsors but it is unsure how long this can continue.

"As the season passes us by the time for thinking about next season is starting to become to the forefront of our mind, we know we need to perform to secure our sponsorship for next season, I feel bettering our objectives and recent results will seal the deal for this team for next season, we will have to see how it goes for the mean time".

Papok takes 2 wins in Romania

Siarhai Papok delivered Credexbank's first two wins of the season with two good sprint finishes at the Turul al Romaniei. The young Belarrusain sprinter showed great awareness and positioning against sprinters who were stronger than him to win stages 2 and 4.

Upon winning Stage 2, Papok for the first time for a Belarussian team with a home grown rider pulled on the leaders Yellow Jersey, which he wore for 3 days. Afterwards with 2 second place finishes to help, including one on the final stage, Papok won the Green Jersey Classement.

DS Ste had this to say on his teams recent achievements:

" I am very pleased and proud of our team who worked hard for 9 days in Romania to clinch two stage wins, defend the Yellow Jersey when Papok wore it, and pursue and win the Green Jersey. This is a huge achievement for a small team from Belarus, even more so as we don't have the strongest team in our division. I know the management and sponsors would have enjoyed the success in Romania, the sponsors especially and people now begin to know who Credexbank are.

Credexbank secure more sponsors for next season

Whether this will mean a new title sponsor for the Belarusian team next season remains to be seen. Although this announcement has come out in which described by the team has been sealed for some time, the team have stressed they will not reveal the sponsors today and will continue to update the press throughout the remainder of the season on what sponsors have become involved in this project.

DS Ste had this to say "It is great for the team, the riders and the young riders in the team to know that they have their future secured for the time being. I hope this will put their minds at rest so they can focus on producing the results from races which helped to attract the forthcoming sponsors to the sport. I believe this is another massive step forward for Cycling in Belarus after the wins by Papok earlier this season. We hope for continued success to show the sponsors are right to invest their money in this sport. Of course if we fail to get results in the remainder of the season, we may loose the sponsors, which I hope will not happen".

More news on the new sponsors will be revealed soon!

Credexbank announce departures

After a meeting with the current sponsors DS Ste117 has drawn up a list of riders who will not be offered a second year with the team. He had this to say "After some careful thinking and mulling over the results this season with our sponsors, I have come to a decision on riders who I don't think have done enough to merit a place on the team next season. Firstly I thank them for being apart of the team and for their hard work this season and wish them all the best in the future."

The riders are:

Sebastien Siedler:

Siedler followed Ste117 from the Eurovision Cycling Team but has unable to capture the eye. With his advancing years it's obvious the team feel he is past his best.

Adrian Honkisz:

The pole, like Sielder is deemed to be past his best, failing to get any notable results this season has seen Honkisz fall out of favour with the Belarussian team.

These departures suggest that the team will be taking a fresh approach next season in the hope of climbing up the ladder.

One rumour that is circulating is that DS Ste117 has secured more lucrative sponsors next season. So could we expect a jersey release in the coming day revealing them, who knows!
