Based on the idea of Le Trik in PCM 11. I am setting up a similar version of this in PCM 12 with one vital difference. Instead of Teams though, it'll involve National Teams.
Basically, you act like a Director Sportif, except instead of running a Team, you season plan and organise the country. As the best way to do this is in Stage Race/Classic mode rather than Career, there will be no fitness hence the 70 day limit and a maximum of 2 Grand Tours per-rider. This stops, for example, the manager of Spain just sending Contador to all three Grand Tours and making it unrealistic. (as those who know the original idea, the increase from 60-70 days is due to the increase in races)
While I will run each race one at a time. In terms of team selection they will run in regards to where they stand in the real-life 2012 calendar.
For Example: I will race Paris-Nice in it's entirety before I start Tirreno-Adriatico. However, because these two events took place at the same time in real life, No rider can race both events.
You get given points for how you do over the season and at the end of the season we end up with a World Team Champion and World Individual Champion.
I will also award a 'Director Sportif of the season award'. This will go to the player I feel has done best with the resources available. Therefore, if Slovenia or Norway finish 5th in the World Team rankins, that is more impressive than the manager of Spain or the UK winning the World Team Championship.
These 21 countries have big enough squads in PCM 12 to complete this season on a limit of 70 days per rider:

The Danes will be going for the unexpected victories. We will try and surprise people. As we are not a country with lots of potential GT-winners we will chose our targets carefully and take what we can get. Be it GC, stages, mountain jerseys...
- For the classics Matti Breschel will be captain
- Jakob Fuglsang will be leader in stage races
- Chris Anker Sørensen will ride his chances in mountainous races with only a few km of TT

Thoughts about team strenght:
Perhaps it would even make sense to split some of the larger nations into smaller ones to make the game less skewed. As it is e.g. Spain will be able to produce a favorite for every single race on the calendar. Perhaps if split into two or three parts by region number. In PCM11 Spain consist of regions 801-817. Then perhaps we could have two teams on regions 801-808 and 809-817. Similarly on other big nations with several regions and favorites for every race?
