Changeing from german to columbian? I think it is a smart move, Cafe de Columbia's end should mean you got a good market for riders

Rocky Mountain Times (newspaper)
extract from an interview with Carolos Ospina
[RMT] What do you think of cycling adding so many new teams for the 2013 season?
[Ospina] Well I think this is very good for cycling. There are a lot of very good riders, many of them from South American who would love to sign professional contracts and these new teams will help them alot.
[RMT] One of those new teams is from Columbia is it not?
[Ospina] Yes that is especially exciting. There was a lot of sorrow when "Cafe de Columbia" disbanded but now this new team Ecopetrol - Aeropostal will be starting up. Some part of me wishes I could end my career with a Columbian team. I have several years of professional experience and I think I could help a new team get started.
----------------------------------------
When we asked Martyn Haly the AMEXpc team manager to comment, Mr Haly said Carlos was one of our best riders last year, With our promotion we must make changes and we hope Carlos wants to stay with us but if his heart is elsewhere then we will try to help him anyway we can. |

CSC Columbian cyclists Soler, Rodas, Parra Bustamante, and Colorado have all been rumored to wanting to join this new Columbian team and dominating the CT mountains together. Any chance bigggassi would put up the money to let these men make the transfer?

AMEXpc is also looking for Columbian climbers, so keep us in mind as the transfer season starts. |

Every post in this thread, after the main ones, has mentioned Columbia.
Has a new country just started or something?
Colombia does make a good choice for a team though - plenty of good Colombians around.

On the presentation of the teamshirt and the main sponsors, general manager bigggassi was asked how the future team will look like.
"Honestly we don't know yet, but our focus will on colombians and venezuelans of course. If Free Agents or already under contract. We are interested in any of them and looking forward to speak with the riders and managers for an arrangement"
said bigggassi. There are also rumors the team is looking for some spaniards since the colombian national language is spanish and there wouldn't been any linguistic issues.
"Yeah, its an option. I don't say we will definitely hire some, but its an option we are talking about a lot the last days."

Questioned about a possible signing of the former Amex Pro Cycling member Carlos Ospina, the front office of the new colombian team showed some interest. "Yeah, we're watching Ospina closely and will talk to him when we're allowed to. Regarding a possible extension with Ospinas' former team in the transfer period bigggassi stayed sceptical. "I can't speak for him, but if someone is not willing to renew my contract its a sign for me they doesn't want me anymore."
