According to various media from Ukraine, it is not a secret anymore, that newly promoted domestic PCT team Metinvest-Emirates are after Bacardi's time-trialer Dmitri Grabovski. Metinvest are said to believe that he belongs to the home team and if Bacardi is ready to negotiate, they will try to get him. So far, it is not certain if Dmitri is part of the plan in Bacardi for the next year (at least Ukrainian press dont know it).
Source close to Metinvest CEO Ruslan Popov believes, that Ukrainian team can be also interested in making wage cap place for some talented loanee from Bacardi (especially from Italy if they will have some) in exchange of Grabovski.

Team Bacardi Press Release #1: Grabovski rumors
Nothing has been decided 100% yet, but Grabovski is an essential part of Bacardi for the coming season. He costs us quite a lot of money to sign him after failing to contract him in the 2011 season. He's one of our stronger domestiques and really helps us in the team time-trial. If we can't come to an agreement or Grabovski really wants to leave, he's free to do so, but we will try to prevent that.

Metinvest understands attitude of Bacardi in thing of Dmitri Grabovski potential move. We respect manager and team from Carribien and we will not be pushing things too far, last thing we would want is bad reputation at the dealers being new in PCT.
So offer could be still on the table, but it will be only decision of Bacardi management, without us pressuring them.

Komanda, Ukraine's largest sport paper featured an article saying Sokolov from Bacardi might move to PrivatBank, a newly formed, Ukrainian-based team. He would be an older rider who could support the youngsters PrivatBank is aiming for.

Team Bacardi Press Release #2: Burghardt & Sokolov
Sokolov might be available later on in the transfers, money would be sufficient. Things will depends on how the transfers turn out.
Burghardt will most likely stay at the team, unless we get a really good trade offer.

Goals revealed
The past two years, we've had very successful seasons goal-wise. Both years, we achieved 4/5 goals. Considering we were a new team and a first year Pro Tour team in 2011 and 2012 respectively, we are happy with this result.
This year, we have some experience and choose to go for some harder goals. They are definitely within the reach of our current line-up, but you never know.
Win Paris - Roubaix
The win goal, which is basically hit or miss. It's pretty obvious that Burghardt will lead the team here, and that we choose this goal with him in mind. For the people who had Burghardt in mind, i'm sorry to disappoint you, but now it's 99% sure he's staying.
Top 5 Tour de France
A goal for Ricco or for a transfer target? We leave both possibilities open. With the less demanding Giro d'Italia, we had to make a choice between a top 3 in the Vuelta, or a top 5 in the Tour. In the end, the Bacardi management choose the "safer" top 5.
Top 10 Ronde Van Vlaanderen
Another goal for Marcus Burghardt. Although he hasn't managed to win this race yet, he has been consistently placing among the top 10 riders in recent years. We hope he can achieve this again in 2013.
Top 10 Giro di Lombardia
We had this goal last year, and we succeeded, so no need to change it.
Top 10 Team Standings
We ended 8th in last year rankings, and we hope we can at least repeat that feat. It'll be hard, but with the right riders, and that bit of luck it should be possible.

Renewals completed
Like all other teams, Bacardi also had to renegotiate the contracts of their riders. We had to use all 3 rounds to finish the renewals, but are happy with the outcome. In the end we resigned the following 18 riders:
| Gediminas Bagdonas | | Marcus Burghardt | | Tyler Butterfield | | Jan Ghyselinck | | Dmitri Grabovski | | Martijn Keizer | | Jure Kocjan | | Aidis Kruopis | | Salvatore Mancuso | | Sergio Pardilla | | Mathieu Perget | | Riccardo Ricco | | Evgeni Sokolov | | Gert Steegmans | | Francisco Jos Terciado | | Tom Thill | | Michael Van Stayen | | Kiril Yatsevich |
We regret to let the following riders go, some of them did not fit in the squad for next year, while others demanded a little to much for their delivered efforts. We wish them good luck with their future carreer.
| Igor Abakoumov | | Mathieu Heijboer | | Simas Kondrotas | | Matej Mugerli |
That concludes our first preview of the 2013 squad. For the interested; a statement about the availability of the riders will follow shortly.

I didn't want to go to low, but he accepted in the first round. I could have pushed more. I f*cked up.

He's cheaper than Madrazo, who I got within 20,000 of his minimum price

Well Madrazo won a GT and finished second in another one. So I guess his wage is justified

Benat Intxausti Confirmed!
€2.000.000. That's the amount it took to transfer Intxausti from Vesuvio to Bacardi. An amount that we gladly pay for one of the top stage racers in the world.
When Vesuvio announced that Intxausti would be up for transfers, a lot of team were interested in him. He's at the prime of his carreer and has shown he is very capable of producing top results, especially in the Vuelta.
We didn't doubt long, and from the moment we could, we made our move. €2.000.000 from the start. No other team contested the bid, meaning that Benat Intxausti is now an officially part of Team Bacardi.
