Danish Championship

The Danish Nat Champs, and it seems likely to be between B&O and Saab. Steensen and Breschel will be their leaders on this slightly hilly course. 27 riders start the race.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Nat%20Champs/Nats001.jpg

The first time up the hill 5 riders jump clear: Mortensen, Klostergaard, Andersen, Christensen and Pedersen.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Nat%20Champs/Nats003.jpg

Scared of missing the move, Festina send Ostergaard across the gap. Saab are happy to chase.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Nat%20Champs/Nats004.jpg

with 100km to go Saab have allowed the gap to grow to 9 minutes, will they now be able to pull it back?
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Nat%20Champs/Nats005.jpg

Nope, with 40km to go the gap is up to 15 minutes, so our winner will come from the break.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Nat%20Champs/Nats006.jpg

With 20km to go Mortensen is the first to attack.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Nat%20Champs/Nats007.jpg

The first attack never works, so Andersen tries to go over the top of him
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Nat%20Champs/Nats008.jpg

Andersen manages to get a 15 second gap
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Nat%20Champs/Nats009.jpg

Which he is still holding with 10km to go.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Nat%20Champs/Nats010.jpg

Klostergaard puts in some good work to peg him back to 10 seconds
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Nat%20Champs/Nats011.jpg

Before Mortensen shuts the gap completely.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Nat%20Champs/Nats012.jpg

Andersen is forced to lead out.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Nat%20Champs/Nats013.jpg

Christensen makes his move from 5th, Klostergaard is attentive
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Nat%20Champs/Nats014.jpg

They fly past those still in Andersen's wheel.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Nat%20Champs/Nats015.jpg

Pedersen tries to respond, but has he left it too late? Klostergaard is now trying to pass Christensen.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Nat%20Champs/Nats016.jpg

Pedersen really should win this, and he is closing the gap.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Nat%20Champs/Nats017.jpg

Klostergaard takes the lead. Does Pedersen have enough time to pass him?
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Nat%20Champs/Nats018.jpg

It's neck and neck.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Nat%20Champs/Nats019.jpg

The line is beckoning, Pedersen is so close now.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Nat%20Champs/Nats020.jpg

Here he comes, is Klostergaard sitting up?
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Nat%20Champs/Nats021.jpg

Klostergaard is celebrating, but who won?
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Nat%20Champs/Nats022.jpg

The initial results say Pedersen snatched it on the line, cueing massive celebratins in the Spyker cap.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Nat%20Champs/Nats023.jpg

But Klostergaard is not convinced and immediately appeals for the photo finish.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Nat%20Champs/Nats024.jpg

Klostergaard is half a bike length ahead here.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Nat%20Champs/Nats025.jpg

Now he's a wheel length ahead.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Nat%20Champs/Nats026.jpg

And on the line Klostergaard has it by half a wheel.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Nat%20Champs/Nats027.jpg

By here though Pedersen is ahead, so you can see how the judges got it wrong. He was going 8km/h faster in the final kilometre, but just got caught out by the early acceleration, and will really be kicking himself.

The TT is here, Christensen, Steensen and Bak are favourites.

Steensen is the first man off, and he sets a time of 54'42"
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Nat%20Champs/Nats028.jpg

Only his team mate Reckweg comes close, with a +23", until Bochman goes +27".
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Nat%20Champs/Nats029.jpg

Bak falls just short, coming in at +7", leaving Spyker dissapointed again.
i1184.photobucket.com/albums/z334/mb1226/Nat%20Champs/Nats030.jpg

Christensen is comfortably quickest though, winning by 14 seconds.
