Pivovarna Lasko dominate the startline at the Slovenian nationals.
With both Spilak and Brajkovic not here busy looking for new contracts, you sense a great chance for a rider to take the title. Protour domestiques Grega Bole, Matej Mugerli and Jure Kocjan usually just make up the numbers but they will fancy this. Kristjan Koren is probably the biggest name here though.
P Lasko know their chance rests on a long unchased break, they try to get Vid Ogris up the road. Jan Polanc tries to join him as does Jure Zrimsek. But Bacardi using Kocjan do not let it, they will not even let 19 year old Mitja Sribar escape.
The youngster manages to latch onto the wheel of Bole when he goes with about 70km to go.
This looks like the decisive moment as Bacardi leave it a lap before Mugerli manages to slip up the road and away from the chasing Koren. Cleverly Kocjan sits on Koren's wheel.
The gap between the duo and Mugerli is about 2 minutes with 30km to go. Realising that he is being help up Bole drops Srigar on the climbs.
It's a real chase out there but Bole is maintaining this two minute gap to Mugerli, however Koren is coming up to him.
As Koren gets to Mugerli, Mugerli sits up and Koren looks across and also sits up!
Advantage then to the Wiggle rider Bole who maintains his rhythm to claim his national title.
Kristjan Koren has had a strong year in the CTour and comfortably wins a windy time trial.
It pretty much went to form though strong winds towards the end affected some of the good chrono men and probably reduced Korens winning advantage. So a hard day but job done for Koren.
