[pcm spainpack] leaving out some textures?

Hi there,
i now started a new career with the spainpack and played my first race.
I used highest graphical settings, and it did not run smoothly at all.

my system is:
x2 4200+, GF 7600 GS 256mb ddr2, 2Gb DDR 400

Am I doing sth wrong with the settings, or is my sys just too weak for the highest settings?
If so, could I just leave some textures out of the spainpack, e.g. not copy some team-textures (CM_textures -> cycliste -> team -> a-z)?

Would the game still run w/o problems, or does the spainpack need all the textutes in order to run smoothly?

I don't think it has anything to do with the PCM-Spain pack. for me it runs the same with the original game or with PCM-Spain: which is slow if shadows are on, despite my system being above the reccomended requirements. which is also the case with your system.

the game's graphics engine is just not optimised at all, sadly
