You'll recognize these parcours from Venezuala's premier race in the Tachira region. One of the season openers and two of it's past winners are here to compete in the national championships.
Aker Solutions keep these short circuits under control in the first half of the race, but three riders have got a minute up the road in Yonathan Monsalve, Honorio Machado and Ronald Gonzalez
Slight disappointment for home team Cativen to have not got someone up there. However whilst being Venezualan sponsored they don't have the hill climbers to compete with this class.
Aker Solutions keep the gap to under a minute.
Alarcon bridges to the lead three with three laps to go. Gonzalez gets dropped at this point.
As they finish the third to last lap Alarcon decimates the breakaway riders, Monsalve and Machado battle hard to keep going.
Ochao and Rujano attack clear from the pack having allowed Alarcon 90 seconds, they now have to try and claw him back.
But despite getting to and passing the former breakaways briefly trying to work with them, they cannot reduce the gap to Alarcon to anything less than 45 seconds.
The brilliant climber takes his national title, snatching it off of Rujano.
