Hello everyone,
for a while now I have been thinking of a new idea for PCM. It would be a bit similar to the Man-Game but would be different (a bit confusing, I know ). However, it would involve you being a cyclist. Here are some quotes from PM's I have sent to Ian Butler:
I guess I'd have 2/3/4 helpers in a 'UCI' unit who manage the series with one belonging to each division. Then I'd have someone in charge of transfers and someone to actually run the game (they'd need a good PC and a YouTube account). Then for each division it'd be the people in charges responsibility to give out points to people to develop their own riders. If there were any managers they would sign real people. With all the original riders nullified it'd let the other riders shine. I might have a 70 stat limit for Pro Continetal and 67 for Continental. The riders would be in charge of their own season plan with some influence from the manager. The person would upload races to YouTube and upload pictures for the people to roleplay. The people would create their riders with better stats if they create older riders (a 23 year old will be better than an 18 year old in the short term but would likely be surpassed by the 18 year old by the time he is 23)
I was thinking of making a kind of Man-game only different. Instead you can choose to either be a a manger or cyclist. You can choose the cyclist's age from 18-23. You develop via a form of role playing. You talk about a recent race in whatever way you want. The better you do the more points you are given at the end of the season which you 'spend' on your cyclist making him better. Good riders like Contador, Cavendish or any new riders are kicked down to 75 on their highest stat and a potential of one so the emphasis is on the players. As a manger you can sign up real player's cyclists to their team and give them tips on how to plan their season.
Those two points are the basic ideas of it, I have the time to hopefully make this a success but judging by the time it'll take to set it all up I need (hopefully) 3 or 4 more people to volunteer for the UCI. Basically you'd determine rules and help carry out the duties in the above text. It would take time and effort but I'm convinced it can be very good if enough people put the effort in to work on it. I currently have The Manx Missile helping me.
PM me with an application if you want to join the 'UCI'. Applications will close at midnight on Sunday BST
Thank you for reading this lengthy post,
