Today in Sweden’s biggest cycle sport newspaper Svenska cycling plus
We have the announcement of Swedens new Cycling team Monark Volvo.
We have an interview with commercial chef for the team and also he tell us about the further for the team.

This is why we started the team says Mark

Its started when we got the medal in the Olympic 2008 at Bejing and also that we have so many promising youngsters from Sweden.
We haven’t have so many good young promising cyclist for many years.
I am not sure if we ever have it.

So we from Monark started to look for partnership in a team building and I got involved with Peter from Volvo and now you see what the result was.

What we have in mind for the further is to develop our young guys to be great in 4-5 years and in shorter time hopefully lead the team up to the next level this or next year.

Here is the short interview with Mark

Q1: So it is many rumors about which cyclist you have in your team any names u can tell us?

M: No sorry, in a moth in beginning of December we are going to have a teambuilding week. On that week we are going to have a press conference with the cyclist and the staff so you have to wait until then.

Q2: As a have understand it you gone have lot of Swedish members of your team

M: yes that is correct

Q3: Any names?

M: like I said before no names to day

Q4: So are you going to use your own cycles or do you use others equipment

M: We are using our own, we are going to developing throe the year and we hopefully get the best equipment.

Q5: So the last question are you going to have any other high ranked cyclist then Swedish names

M: on that question I can say yes but like before no names.

And the newspaper end the article with following words

The Swedish cycling fans are holding there thumbs that this team is going to be successful in the end.

so that is our team for the season

here is the goal both short and long term

For the long term we have 3 high ranked trainers so we want our youngsters to have the best chans to develop as good at is possible and also that our older racers get the best training to devolop as mutch as possible.

In the short term is to get one of the two top spot in our division so we can climb up to the next level and also be in a top 10 in some of the higher ranked races.

Our sponsors for the 2 years to come is
main sponsor Sandvik and Areva
minor sponsor Forex and SKF

so now we can start with the question

Q1: So Sven how do this team feel do you think you have the chans to climb up a step
S: yes I think we have a realy good team ok maybe not a superstar but if you look at the team I think we are at least top 3 in our division

Q2 Also to Sven how do you feel the teams composition are

S: I think we have a better Stage team than flat 1 day team
overall we have better climb and stage runner than sprinters and flat runners.

Q3 So Sven what do you think is a realistic goal

S: I think top 2 in our division is a perfect goal and also maybe some top 10 result in high ranked stage run.

Q4 isent that pretty high goal with this team

S: no not realy not with cyclist we have

Last question to Lars

Q5 so lars how do you think the young drivers further lool like

S: This year most of them are just in it to lern the circuit but give them 2 years and you going to have a different goal for them I think we se next generation of stars in some of them.

So we are going to stop soon so a few question to our drivers

Q1 So both Larsson and Löfkvist how does it feels to be in a so high ranked team from sweden

Larsson: Is like a dream come true
Löfkvist: yes I cant say so mutch more to fill it up

so last question go to Coppel

Why did you go to this team you hade better offer than this

Coppel: I needed something new and this is a great challange for me both as a team leader and as a human so mutch youngster with so mutch devolopment and also great trainers is that a answer good enouth!

So thank you all for coming to ours press conference so next time we see you at the track.

We have sent the team on two different pre-season training. One short for 4 days for ours Australians and a long 10 days for rest of the group. In the longer training group many of the boys feel that the training has been perfect.

So time for the Australian national championship
We have 2 guys to start
Caleb Ewan 17 yo
Jett fisher 18 yo
Both of them are pretty promising but today is just to try to do there best and take a lection from the more experience.

Both of them started easy to be in the back of the groupe but when the 90 km left sign was up both of them has manage to be in the top of the peloton but long after the small group around 7min with 50 km to go.

3 runners tried to get a break away from the peloton at 20 km from goal and Ewan tried his luck to hang on but he hadn’t have the strength to make the brake successfully so the peloton get them after 8km and after that the peloton was complete over the goal line around

But pretty long after the group in front.

Result
1p Sutton
2p Roberts
3p Dempster
Our place
30P Fisher +5,28
34p Ewan +5.28

Australians National ITT
So on the TT we hadn’t so much to bring for the top the youngster is there for experience.

But both of the get out hard but like we believed tired in the end

Result
1 P Cadel Evans
2p Luke Durbridge +35
3p Richie Porte +49
34p Jett Fisher +3.07
41p Caleb Ewans +3,59

Hopefully they get there experience they needed to got a bit forward in there development they didn’t do any thing to make us disappointed.

Next time you se us in Tour de San Luis

Welcome to Tour De Sun Louis 7 days stage race
Monark Volvo Team
Leader Ulissi
Free Kessiakoff
Free Hivert
Sprint Impey
Team Bonnafond
Team Kennaugh
Team Taborre
Team Brambilla

I think we are going to have it hard on the flat stage but some 10placed on those stage would be ok but on the climb stage I hope to be at the top 3 in ovr I hope to get a top 3. But is hard to now before so we will se what happens.

If I got to make a guess I think that Ulissi and Hivert is going to be top ranked in our team with Kessiakoff with a good point on the climbs.

First stage 166km
The first stage is a flat stage our goal is to have control of the outbreaks’ and try to set up Impey or Hivert on a good posision for the sprint.

We started pretty easy many of the team was in the back on the peloton with 120km left we started to move forward.

We have to bring up the speed in the peloton so the outbreaks not fly away.

The outbreaks was bring down at 44km to go and when it was 40 km to the goal Taborre with 2 more runners make a breakaway but the out brake just lasted in 10 km

The rest of the rest was the peloton together to the end. The sprint didn’t go so well we was in a bad position when the sprint took place so a 10 place was the best we could get.

1p Petit Cofidis
2p Dean Orica
3p Boivin Spider tech
10P Impey Monark

The Second stage 168,5 km

This stage is much flat until the last 5-6 km and a hard climb to the end.
The goal on this stage is to be in front of the peloton and no outbreaks left when the climb begins and from there take a top3 place or a win if possible.

We take it easy like last day in the beginning .
Started to move forward with 120km left when the outbreaks starting to get a 4-5 min break.
We helped the peloton to bring in the outbreak.

At 75 km left both Impey and Taborre did a outbreak to bring in some sprint and mountain points
The outbreak was ended at 50 km from goal.

When the climb started we hade almost every cyclist at the front of the peloton, exactly what we had planed
I was shocked about the share out we got in the hard sprint up the climb to the goal.

1p Ulissi Monark
2p Brambilla Monark +0
3p Kennaugh Monark +26
4p Kessiakoff Monark +26
5p Hivert Monark +26
6p Impey Monark +26
TOT
1p Ulissi Monark
2P Brambilla Monark +8
3p Kennaugh Monark +38

I hade high hope on this stage but I couldn’t believe that we should have so much success
All the people in our team is so happy about this success.

3 stage 163 km

A Flat stage this time is just to control the peloton and outbreaks maybe get some good place in the sprint for Impey

We starting like before easy and energy efficient we dident do much before 100 km left
Taborre did make 2 points in a sprint price and then we hade a hole peloton to the end.
The sprint isn’t our strong side but a 5p on Impey and 14p on Hivert
1p Traksel
2p Schulze
3p Dean

We have problem at flat and with a sprint finnish.

I hade my hopes on this one but we did our worse race so far I don’t now what happened but it just to take it and forget it

1P Grivko
2p Barta
3p Plaza
But we are in total led anyway

5 stage 160,8km
Is flat with some hils in the beginning with a huge hill in the end
It look much as the 2 stage so we will have the same goal as that one

The way to the last 10-20 km was not much to talk about but we was in the top of the Peloton when the last climb beggin.
And we did a great finnish with a win for Hivert 3p for Ulissi and 5 guys on top 7 places.
1p Hivert
2p Plaza
3p Ulissi
Tot
1p Ulissi
2p Hivert +1.51
3p Moncoutie +2,26

Stage 6 192 km
This one is the hardest in this Event 2 big climbs it should be perfect for us

We took it pretty easy at the start even after the first big climb we was over 5 min after the outbreaks but then the hunt begin.

But after 110 km we hade bring down the pack in front of us

When the climb begin we was a pretty big peloton but the tempo was high and many small outbreaks was the result of that.

That was 4 cyclist who led the leading group 2 from us Ulissi and Hivert
And 2 km from the goal line started the heavy sprint up the mountain.
The strongest one was Ulissi who could win a pretty easy sprint.

1p Ulissi
2p Plaza +10
3p Moncoutie +21
4p Hivert +26

Tomorrow the last stage just to se that we don’t make any bad choice.

7 stage the last one 181.9

Today is just to look out for with one who break away and control the peloton.
We controlled it great Kessiakoff did a good work to take some mountain and sprint points
And we did a great work to let Ulissi get the Event victory the first for Monark Volvo Team.
If we look at this Event I got to say it seems promising and I feel that we are going to take more than this victory in climb parted races. But we will struggle in flat sprints.

1p Boivin
2p Petit
3p Dean

The total result Time
1p Ulissi Monark
2p Hivert Monark +1,51
3p Moncoutie Coridis +2,26
