Time to drop the curtain for this season's Europe Tour, and that'll happen in that peculiar race that is the Duo Normand. It's the third time that the Man-Game teams face this two-men TTT, with TTT masters Jack Wolfskin winning the first edition, and Quiksilver-Kraft – currently known as Hollister Pro Cycling – the second, which team will succeed them?
Precisely, Hollister is repeating the lineup that gave them the win last year, with the Aussie Zakkari Dempster, who is one of the strongest time trialists present, and the Spaniard José Iván Gutiérrez. Not the strongest squad in paper, but they have the experience and work well together, so better keep an eye on them, even if only out of respect for the current champions.
It's T.CS Bank - OJSC Rosneft, though, the team which brings here what's arguably the strongest lineup. After a disappointing performance last year, this time the Belarussian Vasili Kiryienka comes with one of the best, if not the very best, time trialists of the CT, the Russian Mikhail Ignatiev.
Very close, in terms of strength, to the Russian team are the Germans of VolksWagen – Siemens, with Lucas Schädlich and Kai Reus. Both great trime trialists, the German is doing this race for the first time, while Reus rode for the winning Jack Wolfskin squad in 2010.
Rapha Condor – Qhubeka is the only top 3 team to attend this race, and they do it with a strong pair with the Brits Ian Stannard and Andrew Tennant. They might be a bit short of strenght to fight for the win, but a podium is definitely a realistic goal for them.
The Netherlands just won the World Championships TTT, but that could be too much for the Dutchies of Koppert Cycling Team, in fact neither Rick Flens or Lieuwe Westra made the incredibly strong Dutch squad, but both are able TTists and shouldn't be far off in the podium fight.
Aker Solutions – Bergans are involved in a fierce fight for promotion, and a good result here would probably come handy for them. Gustav Larsson and Jure Zrimsek are the riders they brought here, not the strongest squad here, but still a top 5 isn't impossible.
Another team involved in the exciting fight for a promotion spot are Venchi ProCycling, and the Maciej Bodnar – Luigi Sestili pair's goal should be to bring home more points than Aker Solutions and Pokerstars.com – it's definitely not an outlandish ambition.
Meanwhile, Pokerstars.com bring Stef Clement and Jurgen Van Goolen. In paper a weaker team than their rivals for promotion, beating either of them could be good enough at the end of the season taking into account how close this fight is going to be.
Finally, Cyclevox is sending Ignas Konovalovas and the experienced James Lewis Perry, but their team seems to be the weakest here, although the difference with teams like Pokerstars, Venchi or Aker Solutions isn't insuperable.

I think the 9th place would be 24 points, 12 for each rider.

Ooops, you're right, it's 20 points for 9th place, 10 for each rider.

Nice preview their kumazan with a nice bit of background on the history of the riders.
I have no idea how cya logic works for this one in terms of teh startlist, I would have VW as the favourites here. That said it could be quite a close race with some really decent duo's here.
Would be better if they rode a tandem mind you

Yeah, I first thought of VW as favourites, but the game's rating Tinkoff higher (I suspect the game just want to give #1 to Ignatiev as he's the best TTist, though), so finally went for them. We'll see, the report should be up tomorrow.
And it'd definitely be fun with tandems, specially teams like Cyclevox where Perry is so much bigger than Konovalovas!

A top 5 would be great, but I suspect we'll be bottom 3. I'm afraid there's too much difference between Zrimsek and Larsson.
I would pick VW for the win, Schädlich and Reus are both amongst the very best time trialists in the division. |

Isn't it so that noone falls during TTs? Considering this season for my team we will see it for the first time here ;-)

To confirm how ranking points work. In a normal C1 classic, the winner gets 80 pts. So here, the winning team gets 80 points - each rider getting 40.

That was a pleasant surprise. I'll happily take 4th from that race. Zrimsek must've had a good day. Congratulations to Heine, Reus/Schädlich is quite a duo to have for a time trial like that. |

7th place is way more than I expected. Loosing only 13pts to Aker is another great news
Congrats to VW for achieving their winning goal

You've nothing to fear, beagle
I only got Japan left, where Roux is unlikely to score any major points. But I start to believe a promotion spot is quite safe, as there's about 500 points down to both Hollister and Puma, and I think both must end higher than my team to deny me promotion.

Actually, I fear mainly of Cya logic. On paper my team should gain nice amount of points at Faso, but you never know. And TOP5 is one of my season goals.

After Heine says his TT'ers may not be around next season, they get a key win to try and keep VW in the promotion race, Surprised there were so few entries, are not all managers TT lovers? |

The funny thing is, most teams have been to classics where theyve scored 0 point. Had they gone to this race instead, they would have been guaranteed points!
Nice 3rd for Rapha
