I heard that a "v" in Spanish is pronounced like a "b". Is this true?
If it is, is Valverde pronounced Balberde?
Thanks!

Yes, in Spanish there's no difference between "v" and "b".

Same as in Breton.

But if Spanish people talk difference, they can easily make the difference between the two letters, right?

Well, Spanish people pronounce "v" as a "b", right? But if they talk English, and they want to say "very", they can do it, or will they say "bery"?

Well, actually there are some people that pronounce v and b differently, but the Royal Academy of the Language says we don´t have to make different sounds. When we talk in english we try to make different sounds, and you can see if a person speaks well in english if he makes those two different sounds.

Oh, we can adapt, of course. It's not like the sound "v" is the most difficult in the world. It's much funnier to see other people talking Spanish, some Anglophones are really unable to reproduce the sound "ñ".
