I have looked through the forums but can't seem to find a decent thread about mountain stages. I seem to be getting no where near the top 10 with Wiggins on mountain stages I've tried protecting him with Froome, but he just seems to drift down the peleton 1"45 back on the likes of contador and evans (who even has a lower mountain stat on the the new database) I am doing just single stage races not career by the way. Any help on approaches to mountain stages would be much appreciated thanks Smile

Check the tips and tricks section on the left.

In general it needs some training, when to use the "dot" and how much effort.

First of all, at the start of the race let your whole team go to the front and put them on maintain position so they keep in front of the peleton. Then when aproaching the mountain, protect your leader with the 2nd best climber and put your other riders onfront so the slow riders still in front of the peleton will drop and they don't bother you by blocking and stuff. After that just wait till the favorites attack or if your a favorite yourself, attack at around 6 km when the climb is 10 to 15 km. If its longer i'd recomment attacking earlier.

Cheers I did read that, but does the same apply for PCM12?

It might be a bit different but in general it still works with PCM12.
At least I still use the same tactics.
