Hey guys I'm not that much of a genius when it comes to computers, so I need your help.
My previous PC got fried when lightning struck our house and caused a massive power surge, taking a tally of 2 TVs, 3 PCs and a stove with it. Not to mention we had to fix our chimney and the circuit box thing was done.
Anyway, I'm looking to get a new PC, one that is not too pricey, though. It must be able to handle modern games (like PCM12, the new CoD, new MoH and any other bad ass games) with relative ease. So here is the specs of a computer that seems quite reasonable. It's a Huntkey computer, btw.
-Intel i3 processor
-4Gb RAM
-1 Terrabyte hardrive.
I'm not sure about the CPU, but what do you guys think are the advantages/disadvantages of this pc?
It lacks a videocard to play those games. Core i3 has an integrated graphic procesor (IGP), but you're never going to play a post 2000 game with half decent settings with it.
4GB RAM minimum. RAM is probably the cheapest upgrade to have so you could even go for 8GB.
You need a good video card (just look up CoD system requirements), probably need 1GB card
Make sure HDD is not crap. I have a Toshiba 5400rpm 640GB drive and it sucks.
i5 would be a lot better.
A Medion Akoya P5372E probably would do just fine for you. I believe I bought mine for just over 600 euros, and for that you'll get an i5-3450, 1,5TB storage room, 6GB RAM and a 3GB Nvidia GeForce GT545 graphiccard. It is able to run PCM 2011, and most likely 2012 on maximum settings with no lags at all.
