hey,
I saw a summary of the 2006 TdF and I thought it was an interesting story. So I did some research and after that I had a strange idea:
why don't write a story about it? As it isn't is a PCM story, I thought is should post it here...
30 June 2006:
In the morning of the day before the start of the Tour de France of 2006, the situation was clear: Ullrich and Basso would fight for the win, and there were several outsiders like Mencov, Valverde, Vino and Landis. But that day, things began to happen.
Breaking news:
On 30 June 2006, one day before the Tour, Basso, Ullrich and Mancebo are suspended from participating. They are all, just like the manager of Liberty Seguros, linked to Operación Puerto.
stage 3
Valverde, Landis, Leipheimer, Menchov, Klöden and Sastre are the remaining favourites at the start of the Tour. In the first two stages, nothing special happens. In the third stage, Valverde goes down. He retreats from the Tour:
stage 7
After three stages with sprinters, stage 7 is a ITT. Landis is a good timetrailler but the big question is: how good is Leipheimer?
Well, pretty bad. Leipheimer loses 6 minutes to Landis. After a dramatic ITT, Leipheimer's GC is no more:
In front of the first mountain stages, let's have a look at the GC. Landis is in an excellent position, with Klöden allready 50 seconds behind. Menchov and Sastre are allready more than a minute behind. Things are looking good for Landis.
to be continued...

Why would you buy 11 if 12 is on the market and second DB is coming?
