Do you have a road bike

This or something close to it has probably been posted here in the past, but still I'd like to get a recent overview.
As this is a forum about a cycling game I find it interesting to see how many of us actually ride a racing bike themselves and if they do how much they ride in a yearSmile

I have a road bike myself since 2008 and I rode between 2000 and 3000 km a year, but I will ride more than 3000 this year for the first time. Smile

Time is too much of an issue for me at this point. At some point I'll get a bike and ride on it.

I don't have a racing bike, but I have a hybrid bike which I use to go to work. That's about 10.000 km per year.

People with too little time should consider biking to work. You work out, relax (mentally) and transport yourself in one. And you save yourself petrol/public transport money.

This year i´ve been busy with my final exams etc. and only have done about 3000km in total (not sure about that number, it´s the approximate time on my MTB multiplied with 28km/h plus the kms i made on my road bike) . Last year i had more than 5000km on my road bike in August, plus daily rides to school etc. and some MTB rides.

My aim is to do 1000km in September, which means i´ll end up with 600-700km maximum. Frown

Dropped my mileage hugely these past 2 years but I've been notching it back up hugely since July. Managed nearly 3000km in the past 2 months, doubling my mileage so far this year.

Agreed. I used to cycle about 50 miles a week to work, on my MTB, and back, but I've been moved to a centre just 10 minutes walk from my house.

I've taken a year recovering from a knee injury and I'm back up to 100-150 miles a week on my road bike. In the past I was doing 5-10,000 km a year and I'd hope to get back to that.

Over the Christmas break i rode just over 3000km... Only to be hit by a car in March and have only done about 500 k's (absolute max) since. Past couple of years though, I have done between 10500 and 13000 k's a year. It's easy when you ride 20 a day just, 5 days a week.

Same here - I nearly didn't ride my bike in the last two months because I had to learn for my exams. And I "have to" ride as much as possible in september, because I want to do a race on 3rd of Octobre.
1000 km would be cool, but I don't think I'll make it. So far I'm at 200 Grin but its only 6 days yet. I'll be on holiday on Grand Canary for a week in two weeks time and I'll rent a road bike there - this will be great I hope, it's quite hilly thereSmile

Planned to buy a bike for years now. Never really had the money to do so and also no motivation actually. Pan flat 150km radius where I live. Would love to have it a bit more hilly.
So I just ride a lot with my normal trekking bike. Grin

My halls for uni are 1.5miles of campus
so thats a minimum of 3miles a day getting to classes and back
5 times a week = 15miles
30weeks a year = 450miles minimum or for you Europeans thats 724km
add in 2miles into town for work, 4per day, 4days a week = 16miles
30weeks a year = 480miles (772km)
724+772= 1496km minimum just in commuting.... wow thats cool
than another 20 to 50miles at the weekend, lets say 30times52=1560
rough total of 3056km per year

sorry for the math, just working it out here
that is my minimum target now for the next year (october 2012 to oct 2013)

I have a road bike, yes.
So far this year (since new year's day), I've done 1985 km (67h24' ) plus another 34h50' riding on the home trainer (a Tackx Satoshi) which must be worth 1046 km if I do the math (avg speed on the road x time spent on the home trainer), 31 km of MTB too. Pfft

That's not much, but I was injured during a part of the year.
And I also do some running (1046 km this year), so that's less time to spend on the bike. And 34 km of swimming, if you ask.

I used to do about 6000-6500 km on the bike when I was 15-16, then about 9000-10000 as a junior.

I'll probably end the year with 4000 km (home trainer plus actual road), and I'd have done around 5000, had I not been injured.
