So I started a career with Endura racing, focused on winning small races with tiernan-locke, and did pretty well. He finished 3rd on the continental ranking and my team finished 6th. How ever, from the very beginning I was in heavy debt, my wins wont give me enough money, and by the end of the season I couldn't renew contracts for my main riders cos my sponsor only allowed up to 2000 wage, couldn't sign even one decent rider to fill in for tiernan Locke who signed with Argos... Leaving me with a very very weak squad for next season, even tho I got promoted to continental pro... Seems a bit unfair... What did I do wrong? Is it a known bug?
There are many threads about this, the most important things to know:
1. At the start of the career you can select the financial difficulty. Make sure to select easy when playing with a small team.
2. The latest patch fixed some financial problems concerning small teams
3. You don't have to buy equipment as it is totally useless in the game
4. You can fire the medic and maybe even the scout to save money
BTW: If you are in debt, you cannot offer more than 2000, no matter how high your wage budget would be, so stay out of debt at any means. The same goes for sponsor search, you cannot search for a good sponsor when in debt. This is very stupidly programmed, but there is always the possibility to edit your save and fix the bank account.
I'm playing with the latest patch, didn't buy any equipment, however now I see that my only scout is on a 25,000 contract and one of my trainers is 12,600, so that might have been a problem... Is there any way to change things now? Although I do feel a bit demoralized after having a great season with tiernan locke, and then losing him to another team... If I just start all over again without the expensive staff, would I be able to finish the season without being in debt...?
staff salaries are taken monthly so those 2 alone cost you 451,200 over the course of the year so if you were to start again then unless you were that far in debt or somewhere close to it then you'd be fine.
assuming you were to spend 5,000 on a replacement for each of them then unless you were over 300,000 in debt then you'd avoid being in debt by then end of the saeson even if you pulled in roughly 35,000 less then your previous season.
