I was wondering if anyone knows if Cyanide actually tries to develop the managing part? For so many years it has been crap, and they only seem to develop the gameplay, which i think is fine as it is atm. I dont know if all attributes work as they are supposed but otherwise i would like Cyanide to fix it and start focusing more on the managing part of the game.
For me i see PCM as Fifa in the football game world, which also has a limited manager side, but great gameplay. But in the football game world there is also games like Championship manager and Football manager which pretty much focus on the managing part, so fifa doesnt really have to focus on that. The point is there is only 1 game of cycling and it has decent gameplay but crappy managing part.
A few questions, Where do i write these ideas of development etc? And Do they even consider what the users write about the game?
thanks for reading. |

They DID develop the management part. Just compare PCM08 to PCM12, almost everything has changed.
Cyanide asks the community what they want and then develops accordingly (after an internal evaluation of course). If you want to be heard, then post in the Cyanide forum, but that should have been obvious. |

Well ofc they have developed the game since PCM08 but just look at the recent years, there have been close to no usefull changes in there. To be honest there has close to no change from PCM11 to PCM12 besides more teams and new gameplay panels. Hopefully there will be some other cycling game to compete with Cyanide to make the game improve. |

First you said that they did not develop the game over the years. Now you say there are no changes since PCM11. What next?
In PCM12 it is possible to plan the season. Of course my planner is better but still, this is a huge step for the career play.
Also, after the patch, it is possible to prolong sponsoring contracts, another huge step forward.
All the changes are useful, the problem is, that they are not complete and/or have flaws.

I have never said anything about they havent developed anything so you should maybe start reading the posts instead of raging out, and wuhuu what step forward they made the season planner in-game, but wouldnt call it much of step forward since there already was your 'addon' which is better than the in-game. So i am gonna say it again, there is close to no usefull progress in the management part.
About the ability to extend the contracts with the sponsors, thats something they added to a feature they made available a year ago, but they just didnt finish it, even though they didnt even finish it for the release of PCM12, they had to add it in a patch a few weeks later, which is just lazy.

Well you touch upon a difficult topic. The only thing that would force Cyanide to listen more to their fans AND increase their effort on the PC game would be a competitor.
That can happen in two ways
1) A publisher decides to create a new cycling game (not gonna happen)
2) The community starts developing their own self-funded game
it is indeed possible to reach great results even without funding from a publisher and a full fledged developer but it requires a really huge co-operation and support from the community. I believe we have some great programmers on this site that could pull it off

If ever someone really wants this to happen, there is only one option where to start imo...Kickstarter! If this kickstarter bubble will not burst till then.

I would be happy to helm such a project but I can't promise anyone to succeed.
if people funded this project and it never became a product I would feel like I've cheated those people
therefore I'm developing a prototype myself and untill it is ready and can be shown of I will never try to use kickstarter to fund any of my projects. It will take time but maybe such a prototype is all that is needed to gain support from other members on these forums and get the ressources we need to make the game we all wants
