Hello Everyone,
Despite my very poor record with stories, and the fact that i don't think anyone reads 2011 stories anymore, i am going to write a story on the Roubaix Lille Metropole team. I dislike winning everything constantely and enjoy making development teams (Chipotle Development, Itera-Katusha and such teams) and feel this gives me a developed team that needs some guidence/wins.
It will not be updated too regularly, but i will do my best to post 3 updates (stages/transfers/news) a week.
I will try to have the first of the presentation's up by tomorrow.
Cheers, Pinktay3 |

The Team:
Leaders:
Denis Flahaut: The team’s undisputed leader, it is an honour to have someone of his pedigree on out team. It still remains a mystery to me how we managed to sign him. He will remain with us for a least another 2 years and will be our leader in almost every race.
Goals:
5 Victories
Top 10 Milan – San Remo
Benoit Daeninck: The team’s best rider for cobble’s races, he is far from winning P-R or RVV, but is fully capable of getting great results in the smaller cobble’s races.
Goals:
Top 10 GP Ciremi
Steven Tronet: The team’s second sprinter, Steven will be Denis’ main lead-out man for almost every race, except he will have the opportunities to go for the victory himself at some points, possibly in the late season
Goals:
Lead Denis to 3 Victories
Win Paris – Bourges
Protected Riders:
Julian Guay: The team’s best climber. However, far from being a top contender for winning on the Alpe d’Huez. His TT ability limits his GC chances almost everywhere.
Goals:
Top 25 Overall Tour du Haut Var
Top 25 Stage 1 Criterium International
Morgan Kneisky: The team’s best puncheur who also packs a handy fast finish. Morgan will provide much needed fire-power in the lead-outs for Denis on the flats, but will gain the opportunity for a victory on the smaller hills.
Goals:
Top 15 Tour de Finistere
Top 10 Stage 1 Paris - Correze
Florian Le Corre:The teams second climber, what Florian lacks on the mountain’s he makes up for on the flats (which isn’t a lot…). Again, almost no chances are offered on GC because of his lack of TT ability, but Florian can still expect some decent results as long as he puts in the work.
Goals:
Top 25 Tour de l’Ain
Domestiques:
Nicolas Bonnet: The best TT’er on the team, expect to see Nicolas helping in the pace-making on flat stages.
Matthieu Boulo: A good puncheur able to ride flat roads. Matthieu will aid in the lead-out of Denis as well as helping Morgan when the smailler hills arrive.
Anthony Colin: A great flat road rider, Anthony can also provide support for the cobble races, and will generally be Benoit’s right-hand man.
Loic Desriac: One of the better TT’ers of the team, Loic can offer firepower to a chasing peloton, or to an escaping break. He is also a very talented cobble rider, and will try to take a few break-aways on the early season cobbles.
Kevin Lalouette: Purely a team-mate, Kevin is extremely well known in his local region as a fighter. His good friend Jean-Eudes Demaret (riding for Cofidis this season) once said ‘Within sport of any kind, I’ve only seen Kevin give up twice. And one of those time’s he broke his leg’
Goals:
Regardless of how much work we do, or how good our lead-out, or how good our team tactics are, we are simply not good enough yet.
The Domestique goal:
Get as much break-away time as possible.
The Full Squad:

Unlike our bike sponsor, Shimano isn't from France, however, something they do have in common, is the quality of the material's. The world's best Bicycle Component Company, Shimano will provide us with both Group-Sets and Wheels. We will use their mechanical Dura-Ace Gruppo, and have the ability to select from 3 different wheels. The C35, C50 and Pro Disc Tubular wheels.
Sponsor Goals:
Yet to be finalised

Judging by the amount of races the team intends to ride and with such a small squad i think your riders are going to be totally wasted |

Yes, they may end up feeling a bit fatiqued, but there are not too many race days. I will probably not recieve wild-card entries to the Tdf or Criterium du Dauphine because i lack a pure climber, and maybe even Paris-Nice. And that's the calender the team used in real life (although with a few less racing days), and they had a few good results throughout the season. |

Sorry guys, I've lost a bit of motivation for this story, as I'm from New Zealand and Australia, not France and I don't find this story very realistic in terms of my team preferences and favorite riders etc. A while ago I started a Drapac Cycling Team, and have decided I will start this story up again. There's already been Sponsors, Team Presentstion and all that so check it out.
