Tactics for simmed races

I am playing a career mode for the first time, and I am simulating the races (mainly Quick Simulation) rather than running them in 3D.

Does anyone have any tips for how to set up the riders' instructions for simmed races? I should be getting results with Sky, but apart from Cavendish I haven't had any podium finishes in January or February, even in 2.2 races.

Are there any tactics that work either for sprinters or classics specialists in sim mode?

Make sure you put enough team-mates on "protect the leader", or whatever it's called.

What also helps is putting your team-mates on: take part in chasing the breakaway. That way no breakaway will last til the end of the race.

That's pretty much my experience, quick simulation is a risk, it's like gambling Wink

when quicksimming fitness plays an even more important role than normal
this means in jan and feb results will be hard to come by, just build up form for PN, TA and MSR.

and what 2.2 races are sky in?

i did an experiemt in PCM 2010 and i proved that having team mates in good form or as lead out men had absolutely no effect on the results
