How to withdraw a team from a race?

I am running a Continental Pro team and we got an invite to a CWT race. However, I already had a race scheduled during that time (I didn't expect to receive the invite) and I want to withdraw my team from the minor race. How do I do that when the deadline for scheduling changes has passed?
I've searched this forum for an answer and checked out the game manual to no avail.

Go on your schedule, there should be Green Ticks next to your entered races and green Q marks for Wild card requests etc etc.
i "think" its as simple as clicking on the Green Tick and it will disapear which will withdraw you.
Just make sure you have not progressed past the time limit to update your schedule, although if your getting invites I doubt this has passed  |

Thanks for the reply, but the time limit has passed, so there is no longer a green tick next to the event, just a blue check mark. This is a March 25th race, so the deadline was Jan 5th. I received the invite well past the deadline.
All I can think to try is put my guys in the other race and set them at 0 effort and wait for them to withdraw. Seems like there should be an easier way... |

If you only ride two races at that time, split your field, so the best is at the CWT race and the 2nd best is at the minor race? |

If the race you were registered before starts 1 day or more than the one you get an invitation... may be you can start the race an set effort 0 to all of your riders.
But... dont you have riders to ride both races? |

I've thought about that, too. But I don't want to waste racing days if I don't have to, especially since some of my squad is not currently in form. It's unfortunate that you can't just withdraw from a race. |

Ugh, the first stage is a time trial and it doesn't appear that my guys will withdraw. I've got it set on x8 and my guys are just sitting on the track.
What a disappointing lack of functionality... |

You can only use that strategy on a road race. At least in 09 anyway. |

I finally moved one rider up and he crossed the line more than 24 hours behind the leader.
I won't have enough eligible riders to compete in the CWT race, so I guess we'll forfeit that one automatically. What a complete disappointment. One of only two invites we've received so far and I can't even compete. |
