How would cycling races be without teams and all riders one v. one? |

Too many car behind the riders, as every rider needs his own DS and car (or motorcycle).

Cavendish would have a big advantage, as he would be the only one with someone riding for him (Eisel) .

Unofficial teams would probably form themselves, with mutual interests of involved riders, be it through money, nationality, friendship, brotherhood (hi Frändy), etc.
I think it'd urn out to be unfair, and advantage the richest/friendliest/rider coming from a country with a strong patriotism feeling, etc.
If you want races with riders on their own, check individual events on track, or road (ITT). |

Horrible idea
The rider with the most money behind him would pay everyone else, and thus win
The racing would be boring, as no breaks would be pulled back, thus they would never form.
Sprints would last 200m, as no-one would be willing to lead out.
Mountains would last 1km for the same reason.
TTT would be hilarious
ITT would be the same
There would be no sponsorship and thus the whole system would collapse without funding.
Could not be a worse idea.
For interesting racing, just make the teams in races smaller.
Or set them all on fire so they have to ride fast to put the flames out

Isn't that how it is already? (Vino)

They would be like they were back when there were no teams. Completely random because if there's no one to sacrifice himself to work for others, the others won't chase, so the first guy to breakaway alone wins

+1. The first to reach the line got sprayed with water, while the others had to keep riding until the flames put out. |

what if cycling was kinda like hoons driving their cars like in 2 fast 2 furious where they organise a event then girls spray paint a line on the ground and the cyclist line up and then they race through the streets dodging traffic.
i gotta get a life |

Happens between bike messengers in the big American cities already with fixies. Fun to watch, but as an organized sport: Just no... |
